Current YouTube TV user here, until the end of my billing cycle with the whole Disney and ESPN and the removing of an abundance of channels. Is Hulu Live good for watching live sports and how is the delay on it? I only really care for watching sports for the most part on there, and with YouTube TV removing all of the sport channels, I just had to see what my alternatives are. I know Hulu Live is still owned by Disney, but I have to cave in lol. Feel free to tell me any cool perks or any downsides to Hulu Live, thank you!
Okay so I’ve been seeing Hulu + Live TV all over the place lately it’s trending everywhere. ESPN is now offering a bundle that gives you Hulu + Disney+ free for a year if you sign up for ESPN Unlimited ($29.99/mo). That's honestly a killer deal... but it feels like a weird time to get more into Hulu Live.
Because here's the thing:
It’s $81.99/month WITH ads now.
They just added like 14 new channels (Hallmark, Weather Channel, random Vevo music ones).
Disney's now merging it with FuboTV after scrapping that whole Venu Sports thing.
But people (me included) are still seeing crashes, lag, bugs on the Live TV app side.
Like… I WANT to cut the cord. But Hulu Live is still the easiest way to get sports, news, and whatever streaming bundles Disney’s cooking up.
Is anyone actually sticking with it long-term? Or are you guys jumping ship to YouTube TV, Sling, etc.?
Curious if I’m just stubborn or if this is the direction everything’s headed.
I will start by saying I'd like to stay with YouTube TV. However, with the other big 3 live TV streaming services offering different perks and add-ons, I feel like YTTV is falling behind.
*Hulu w/Live TV, Fubo, and Direct TV (Streaming) all offer ESPN Unlimited which gets ESPN Select content and WWE PLEs. YTTV does not.
*Hulu w/Live TV bundles in Disney+ and Hulu's back catalog and originals for no extra cost. YTTV does not.
*DIrecTV bundles Disney+ and Hulu (with Gemini lease) on signature packages.
*DirecTV offers genre packs for less that include different add ons such as ESPN Unlimited, Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max.
*Fubo just launched their Sports centric package
Other companies are trying at least to gain business and offer what seems to be better value.
