Great start. Other quick tips: 8. Stay positive. Riding the edge like Virgin and Pandora is one thing, because they are somewhat playful and sexy. However don't choose something that starts with No, Don't, Never, etc. 9. Try to spell it somewhat intuitively. Like OP said, almost all words are taken, so you're going to have to make something up. But make things easier on your customers. Facebook, not Phaycebuk. Uber, not Oobur. 10. Don't capitalize in the middle of the word. Facebook, Airbnb, Photoshop, Netflix - you don't need to capitalize every syllable. I think your name will be stronger if you're declarative and make it a word, rather than two words smashed together. More on reddit.com

If you've been spending 3 months just on finding a name, you need to consider how serious you are about starting the business. Most entrepreneurs would have a name -- any name -- on the first day, and spend the rest of the time on their product or service. You can always change the name later. Ever eaten at Subway? It used to be called Pete's Super Submarines. Subway is a better name, but that didn't stop them from starting up their business.
