So I dropped my phone in the water and it automatically punched in codes and locked itself out which is still fine, I luckily had Apple Watch connect to receive text and phone calls but I wanted to see how much data I have in my Apple ID, so there I punched in multiple wrong password and got locked out of that too and went into security lockout and now there was no other way to reset my Apple ID because I didn’t have any other device with that Apple ID signed in, I go into account recovery on the 8th of feb 2022, after providing few information I couldn’t provide my card information because I lost that card so basically in this scenario the wait time increases
Now I enter account recovery on 8th of feb and I get an email from Apple saying on 22nd feb I will receive a text or a phone call to reset my password , since I was in a lockout I wasn’t receiving any texts on Apple Watch but only calls so i waited until that day I didn’t receive any call from them so I go into another account recovery now the email says it’s 4th March luckily I bought another brand new phone just so I can receive text from Apple,
So my question is do we usually receive a text or a phone call also when I called Apple support one of the made was like i don’t see your account in an recovery mode I was like how is that possible ? Also how do I check the status of the account recovery process?PLEASE HELP ME
I've been trying for a month and half to get my account recovered. I originally set it up for a work phone years ago and forgot about it. Now 4 years later I'm trying to get access to my old account. Tried forgot password but don't have access to my old work phone so initiated account recovery. Waited a month with no notifications only to find it was immediately deactivated after recovery so I had to wait 2 weeks while support tried reactivating it. Only to find I had to AGAIN recover it because my new phone number was never added to the account. 2.5 months of waiting to activate an ID. Oh and I didn't get any email notifications or text notifications like I should have. Piss poor service from an obviously out of their depth apple
