If you already added IDM extension into Chrome you need to configure it correctly. To do this press on Chrome menu (arrow 1 on the image), select "More tools" menu item (arrow 2 on the image) and then select "Extensions" tab (arrow 3 on the image). For Brave, I couldn't find the link, but you can try this

First, remove the IDM extension from Brave.

Find a file with this name: IDMGCExt.crx in folder brave installed.

My device is C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Download Manager.

open extensions and enable developer mode and then drag and drop that file to Brave.

Make sure the extension is enabled.

Note after downloading the extension for each browser reopen it so it can be activated

actually, before your reply, i tried to uninstall idm with Full settings meaning everything would be unistalled. and then installed it and it worked

This is due to a big change in chrome from Google. Google has made changes in it's policy regarding chrome that it will not allow extension install from outside the chrome web store.

It is done to protect users from malware and scam on the web.

You can try this, which worked for me:

Remove the IDM extension currently installed in your Chrome then go to this site IDM Integration Module offered by www.internetdownloadmanager.com and add the extension there, this way Chrome will not auto disable the extension anymore.
