I’m not sure I’d stack 2 board on top they wouldn’t be the most stable especially if your raising your desk with it being standing desk. The shelf with legs attached would give you good stability More on reddit.com

I have the Micke desk with the two drawers and I love it, but I wish I had some upper storage like they used to sell as the add on.
Short of building the topper myself, what are some good hacks for storage?
Editing to add more specific details: I would like to have shelf space to put books and files and items like that. I do not need drawers. My ceiling height is 9’, so I have plenty of room vertically.
