Which IKEA desk table tops from this list are the most sturdy/hardy/tough?
ikea - solid table tops?
Looking for a good quality desk from ikea.
DIY skarsta desk top?
SKARSTA base is the same for the 63" and 47", and the top is just a top. So you can use anything that's suitable, be it plywood or something like GERTON. Just follow the downloadable instructions that came with the base.

I’m about to move from my house into a smaller studio apartment, and need to downsize my desk. Currently I have Alex drawers on one end, a 78” Linnmon table top, and a Vika Lilleby trestle leg on the other end.
Since my new studio is smaller, I’ll need to get a shorter table top (and most likely will get either another set of Alex drawers, or the Mittback trestle legs). I wanted to get a sturdier table top, one that is no more than 40-55 inches long. I won’t have the tools/ability to get something like a long Karlby top and cut it to size, so I’ll need something already the correct size.
Which of the standard table tops from this link are the most “sturdy” or “structurally rigid”? The Linnmon I’ve had is pretty cheap, and when I tried to mount my 32 inch monitor on a monitor arm to it, the table top bowed and buckled and almost broke. So ideally I want whatever is the most well built desk table top that ikea offers in something like a 40 or 50 something inch size.
not sure if this is the right subreddit for that
so i am generally looking to get a new desk. one that allows me to install a vesa arm on it - either through a hole or with a clamp.
does ikea currently sell any desk tops that are solid enough to do that? i currently have an ikea desk, micke, but thats definitely not solid. also due to how its build i cant install a vesa arm on it anyway.
Hi I’m a college student with room to spare. Looking for a quality desk that won’t break the bank. I am looking for anything over 5 feet. That can handle 2 monitor. Sorry if it’s a dumb question but would appreciate any help.
