I'm questioning if we've been sleeping with a King duvet this whole time or not but I remember buying it and buying the last king-sized duvet. I'm going to return it and buy bedding elsewhere. Hi Everyone,
My Fiancé sleeps hot and I am in the market to get a new Duvet Cover that is linen & Duvet insert that is breathable. Since our current Duvet Cover is from Amazon (MooMee, 100% cotton) with a Down Alternative comforter (Costco, probably polyester).
I haven’t landed on a Duvet Cover yet but I wanted to see if anyone has used this insert before and if they would recommend it to a semi-hot sleeper (Me)

Can’t speak to this one specifically but I got their wool duvet insert recently and I like it a lot. Two things to keep in mind about duvet covers for IKEA inserts. The inserts are not standard sizes so if you get a cover from elsewhere it may not fit precisely. Not necessarily a deal breaker but the other thing is that the inserts don’t have loops either so you could have some movement if the cover is too large. Best to get a duvet cover from IKEA for the best fit. I got linen duvet cover for winter and a cotton/lyocell cover for warmer months and both are great and relatively low priced compared to other stores.

You get what you pay for with IKEA, but my kids have had a couple of these and they’ve been through the wash lots and have held up fine

The issue with IKEA duvets is they use non standard measurements, so you're stuck with their duvet covers. I had one in my Queen and it never covered the bed quite right. They're minimal warmth comforter is great for someone who wants the weight of a comforter without retaining heat, it's one of the few polyester things I think does its job well, but I wish it fit my bed. I’m beginning to think I’m losing my mind. I bought a 12.5 Tog feather duvet from IKEA, 240 x 220 cm. I also bought two sets of bedding, from IKEA, at the same size, 240 x 220 cm
So why is it that the duvet is too small for the duvet cover?! They should be the same size but I still have about 10cm of flappy duvet at the edge. I’m guessing the bottom of the duvet is where the label is, so I’ve got that on the same edge as the bedding fasteners, and I just can’t figure out what the issue is. Have I put the duvet in wrong? Is this a common issue? Can anyone save me from the sensory sin that is a sad flappy duvet cover?!

YES!! I’m reading this at 3:28 in the morning because I can’t go to sleep since my duvet and cover are driving me crazy. Duvet IS smaller. Thanks for validating me.

Now add to this problem the fact that the duvet and duvet cover don't really cover the size of the mattress/bed. I can't figure out how we are supposed to use a 220cm long duvet+duvet cover in a 220cm long matress (or in my case both are 200cm but it is the same problem). If I tuck it underneath the bottom end of the matress so it doesn't move at night, the top part only reaches mu chest and I'm cold and i spend the night pulling it to cover my neck and shoulders. And if I leave it out and just on top of the bed, without tucking it in, it end up all rolled up and I keep fighting agains it all night. I can't understand why the sizes are like this and it is driving me crazy. Please help, I don't know what to do.

I live in western NY (Buffalo area) so we have long winters. I don’t really sleep or cold, basically in the middle. Any recs? I’m not trying to spend more than $150! LMK if they are worth it! Thanks

I’ve had one for about ten years, and it’s been okay. I’m planning to replace it this fall. It’s light weight, so good in summer, but needs extra blankets in the colder months. Down alternative is definitely better on the low budget end. Buying cheap down is just buying trouble (mostly feather, odor, clumping), and quality down is expensive. Im not convinced it’s worth it for most people for a comforter/duvet. Quality down pillows are worth it though. There are many down alternatives that are generic polyester fill. And there are a few that have a reputation for excellence while still not too expensive. I have a sleeping bag made with Primaloft, and it’s the real deal. It’s twenty years old and still in great condition. That’s what I’ll probably buy. Here’s one that you might like. This company has a great reputation and sells several different down alternative comforters. I’ve been meaning to call them and get more info on their various options. They are big suppliers to the hotel industry. So I’d recommend Primaloft without hesitation, and then you have to get the right weight for your preference.
