January 1, 2025 - For us, the trickiest part of our Ikea kitchen remodel was to keep all lower cabinets top leveled, as it is an essential for adding stone countertop later on. We ended up having our contractor send a guy to help us adjust the cabinets to make sure the top is ready for our quartz countertop, hence we had spent some extra money there. July 10, 2023 - Construction: The general consensus in customer reviews about the construction of IKEA kitchen cabinets is that they are well-built, but are of a lower quality than custom cabinetry.

August 13, 2024 - Saying that, I’m sure the solid wood options would hold up a lot better, and I’m even considering replacing the shaker-style drawer fronts we had custom-fitted in 2015 with IKEA’s FRÖJERED fronts for an easy kitchen glow-up. Internally, the fittings leave much to be desired. The HÅLLBAR waste sorting system is really flimsy, coming apart every time you open the drawer in both of our kitchens. The Benchmarx one we had fitted into a door in a previous property was perfect, even ten years on. Fi & Neil’s Howdens kitchen is virtually the same as when they bought it too (See their Howden’s Kitchen Review)

October 6, 2024 - Wrong plans, wrong deliveries, missing products, broken and damaged and non existent customer services or aftersales. Ikea kitchen services, steer clear. At minimum incompetent, at most dangerous practices to your kitchen facilities, verging on the unlawful that they are allowed to continue selling and fitting kitchens reading some of the other reviews.

Many negative reviews are about long shipping times, some measured in months instead of weeks. Below are a few examples from IKEA's page on the Better Business Bureau. ... "I love their products, and we did order a whole bunch of kitchen cabinets, lights, and other kitchen related things."

I use IKEA on almost every kitchen project of mine, and my clients are always delighted with the results.

May 5, 2019 - The hardware is still soft-close, and the cabinets and doors/drawer fronts are holding up great. We used dark wood veneer slab fronts on the base cabinets, and white lacquered MDF slab fronts on the uppers (I can’t remember the name of either).

September 19, 2021 - From the beginning, I knew I wanted black slab doors for the cabinets to give the kitchen a modern look. I must say we were so happy when we found the perfect cabinets at IKEA. Yes, you heard that right, IKEA! I did my research in finding actual reviews and was pretty impressed with what I found.

They dragged me for two months with the design and purchase of the kitchen, during which they kept losing my information and each time I came I had to restart the whole process from scratch.

May 2, 2019 - For the most part, they were uniformly enthusiastic. Yes, IKEA cabinets are cheap, but that doesn’t mean they’re shoddy or flimsy. Before I tell you what we learned, I wanted to point out one more thing about our kitchen renovation that gave us confidence using IKEA cabinets.

I got them with the kitchen (again) at 20% off, which is a steal. I was quite happy with the quality of my IKEA cabinets and appliances in my last home--knew where I'd be going a second time.
