If you’re in the US, a Home Depot or Lowe’s can cut either glass or plexiglass to spec. It is expensive and you need a way to get the piece home afterward. I went to WayFair and other home goods sites to look for glass table tops of similar size as well. I still haven’t purchased one. Would also welcome ideas. Answer from qaganoficeandfire on reddit.com

So I recently moved and finally have space for a vanity - hooray! Thanks to this sub, I knew I wanted a micke desk from Ikea as my vanity... but then I had forgotten about the pandemic. Now basically everything is not in stock! I’ve tried going through the posts but most of them were utilizing things from Ikea.
So here’s my question - what inexpensive alternatives could I find to use as my vanity that’s not from Ikea? Any suggestions or tip would be greatly appreciated! Right now my makeup is still in a box on the floor😂

As someone else who just moved and planned on all Ikea furniture I say: keep an eye on Ikea unless you find something you love. I was without a desk for over a month cause there were no alex drawer units in stock and when they finally did get some I jumped to go get them and they were already running low. They also didn't have one with the bigger file cabinet drawer but at that point I was desperate for a desk: well I kinda regret settling now as I struggle to make things work with the different drawer unit than what I planned on. I personally would spend some more time without a desk just to get it perfect when I finally do, so don't settle for something that you wouldn't get if what you wanted was in stock is my advice
