Hi all! Is there a way to hack something similar to this?
We’re trying to build a wardrobe around our bed but we both appreciate having something resembling a nightstand, which is why we don’t want to just have a solid Pax on each side.
We’re working with about 46” of space (wall to bed), and 8’ ceilings.

Maybe a single besta with legs on each side on the floor. then wall mount the rest up and over the wall? It would make the floor best as your nightstands, but the rest could be storage and match cohesively with the same color. you can make the floor bestas with drawers and the wall units with doors.

I've had two Hemnes nightstands for probably 7 or 8 years and the drawers on these things have driven me crazy for a while. They have 9.25" of usable depth, but only come out 4.25". It's super annoying to have 5" of space that's hard to get anything out of. I'm curious if there's something I can do to the existing slides to make them come out full length? Or does anyone know of a replacement that will work? Appreciate any advice! Thanks!

This is a cost-saving design for Ikea; full-extension slides are a lot more money. There's a decent YouTube video on how to swap the original slides for full-extension type. Each pair (for one drawer) will cost you about $20 each. So, not an inexpensive swap.

Remove the drawer. Look inside the nightstand and observe the little track thingies that the drawer slides on. Notice how it’s set back a bit from the front. You need to move those thingies so they are closer to the front. There may already be screw holes just for this purpose, as I found when I put together the Hemnes 3 drawer chest just a few days ago.
