Have this IKEA cabinet with LEDs on the front. As can be seen, the wires frayed and shorted out right where the door moves the cable. Any ideas on how to fix this given the short is SO close to the device? Any leads on IKEA replacement parts?
We just bought a Storjorm cabinet and I'm wondering if anyone has tried replacing the lights. I'm going to attempt it but was hoping for tips before I start.
I was just wondering if this was safe. This unit is supposed to be hardwired into the wall. It has the usual green, black, and white wires. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10250084/ We are, ahem, I mean she is using it as a makeup vanity. So I found a work around, but it involves cutting open a existing 3 pronged cord (I used a computer one, if that matters) and just using a twist on. This allows me to plug it into a wall. Here is sort of what I was thinking. https://www.familyhandyman.com/electrical/repair/extension-cord-repair/view-all#step1
Is this effectively what's going on when you hardwire it? Is it safe? Sorry for all the facepalms I've caused. And thank you for your time.
Call me the worst google-r in the world (seriously, do if you find some information that I couldn't locate) but I really am interested in getting this mirror for a vanity set up but I can't find a single damn review about it.
