International Space Station - Wikipedia
4 hours ago - The International Space Station (ISS) is a large space station that was assembled and is maintained in low Earth orbit by a collaboration of five space agencies and their contractors: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), ESA (Europe), JAXA (Japan), and CSA (Canada).

A view of the International Space Station. In view are the station's sixteen paired red-coloured main solar array wings, eight on either side of the station, mounted to a central integrated truss structure. Spaced along the truss are ten white radiators. Mounted to the base of the two rightmost main solar arrays pairs, there are two smaller paired light brown-coloured ISS Roll-out Solar Arrays. Attached to the centre of the truss is a cluster of pressurised modules arranged in an elongated T shape. A set of solar arrays are mounted to the module at the aft end of the cluster.

i have a question about the people in space right now
So, most of them are on the ISS. This means they live and work with each other all day, everyday. Yes, they came on different ships, but all docked to the ISS. As for the other 3 from China, they are on their own separate space station and are not in contact with astronauts aboard the ISS. More on reddit.com

How could an international space station designed and built today be better? What emergent technologies would be a game changer for a 21st century space station?
Don't forget advances in space hygiene, iirc there was some mold issues in the ISS  And things like the ability to build larger structures with more room for expirements. More on reddit.com

What are possibility for another International Space Station?
I think there will be a space station that replaces the international mission of the ISS, but will more likely be designed and built by one company instead of a patchwork of different modules from different countries like the ISS. More on reddit.com

It also moves faster than a typical airplane (airplanes fly at about 600 mph (965 kph); the space station flies at 17,500 mph (28,000 kph)). The International Space Station is a convergence of science, technology, and human innovation that enables research not possible on Earth for the benefit of humanity.

July 16, 2024 - Astronauts and cosmonauts regularly conduct spacewalks for space station construction, maintenance and upgrades. The solar array wingspan (356 feet, 109 meters) is longer than the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380 (262 feet, 80 meters). The International Space Station has been continuously occupied for two decades, and the astronauts and cosmonauts aboard have taken more than 3.5 million photographs of our home planet from space.

January 13, 2025 - The ISS is made up of many different pieces that, together, sprawl over a space about as big as a cathedral. The main body of the station consists of pressurized modules hosting laboratories, living quarters, life support systems, bathrooms, airlocks, and storage, among other things. These habitable modules occupy a volume roughly equivalent to three subway cars, with about half of that available to the crew.
