How to Properly Replace the Rear Camera on an iPhone 13 Pro Max to Avoid Non-Genuine Part Notification
Properly would be to just do the Self Service Repair and pair the new camera through apple.
Using a 3rd party hack around does work though, just can't call it "proper", I think the tag-on flexes are the most efficient for most people.

so i dropped my phone this morning and the 3rd lense cracked.. the 0.5 and 3x zoom and above works fine on taking pictures and videos however the 1x normal zoom is the issue due to the damage of the lense (blurry thing).. should the repair really cost around 95$? on the local repair shop near me said that it would fall into camera replacement..
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to replace the rear camera on an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I want to avoid triggering the non-genuine part notification. I've come across different methods and tools, and I need some advice on the best approach.
Here are my main questions:
-
Using V1S Pro for Data Transfer: I’ve seen that the V1S Pro can be used to read and write calibration data from the original camera to the replacement camera. Has anyone had success with this method? Are there any specific steps or precautions I should be aware of?
-
NAND Transfer Method: Some tutorials suggest physically transferring the NAND chip from the old camera to the new one. Is this necessary if I’m using the V1S Pro, or is it an additional safeguard? What are the advantages and potential risks of this approach?
-
Combining Both Methods: I’ve also seen instances where both methods are used—transferring the NAND and then using the V1S Pro to read and write data. Is this overkill, or does it provide a more reliable outcome? If you've done this, can you share your process and any tips?
Hey all, my camera decided that it would like to fail. A replacement from apple is 200 before sending the old part back. I have replaced the screen before with a new part from the self-service program before and know how the repair process goes. I see that apple made a press release for use of used components. Wanted to know if anyone has replaced any used components on the 13 pro max and went through the process to register the component successfully? When i replaced the screen i put the phone in diagnostic mode in which i was able to register the component and was hoping to do the same.
