Hi all, I’m a beginner player trying my best to get better. Unfortunately I live in a household of 5 adults, all of whom are mentally ill in some manner or another, so noise is expected to be kept to a minimum and only within reasonable hours. On top of that, I am horribly shy and terrified to play if/when others can hear or see me (I feel judged or laughed at).
Guitar has been super healing for me, though, and even though I’m not very good at it, I don’t want to give up playing when it helps me out so much with my own brain weasels.
I’m interested in getting a Jamstick so I can practice without anyone hearing besides myself (using headphones), while working (I do delivery jobs and spend a lot of time just sitting quietly in my car waiting for orders) and during my free time at home. Reviews seem kind of difficult to come by, though, and I’ve seen the Jamstick referred to both as ‘junk’ and as a ‘lifesaver’.
Is this a reasonable option or should I give up and just stick with the few minutes I get to myself every week or two? Or is there another device that better suits my needs?
Thanks for any and all advice!
