netsh winsock reset - It should be fixed!

My husband is having trouble connecting to my server when i try to open to Lan. It was working yesterday and now after turning both mine and his pc’s off for the night he cant connect.
He keeps getting this error:
java.lang.nullpointerexception: group
Sometimes on my screen i can see that he has joined the game, then a second later it reads that he has left the game. On his screen it just says "Failed to connect to the server disconnected”

That error is extremely common in software from all sorta of causes so more details will be needed to narrow it down. Any additional information contained with the error would be needed. Minecraft may not display it on screen, but you can try enabling the message window (or whatever it's called) in the launcher. The error might show up there with more details when it happens. You might try to reboot both your PCs since it sounds like it was working yesterday. Other things to try: Make sure the Minecraft launcher on both PCs is set to the same Minecraft version. Make sure he can still run singleplayer and it's just a problem with multiplayer. This can help narrow down the issue at least. Run the latest video driver installer on his PC. Install the latest Java version on both your PCs (not sure if this matters). The technical reason for a nullpointerexception is that the developer forgot to account for some condition, usually a rare one, that isn't satisfied, so the game can't continue running. Sometimes the game couldn't run anyway so the developer doesn't bother trying to handle the condition, sometimes the developer forgets to provide a more useful error message for the condition,

Nullpointers usually indicates some response within the server is returning a value equal to "null". As a result, the server can't proccess that value and fails. Please post logs from the PC which is suffering from the nullpointer

If you are playing newer snapshots, This was a recent bug in the 17w14-16
They seem to have finally fixed it in 17w17a/b
It seemed to be related to a number of new additions like advancements and parrots.
Update your server_jar and your minecraft client to 17w17b (current)

Since it's a server, and other players have used that spell, it's probably something the backpack is doing that the other players didn't have, and the backpack is conflicting with the Ars spell. About the only thing I can think of is have the server admin edit your player file and see if they can remove the backpack and see if that works when you join.

when people try to connect to my server, they receive this error messageinternal exception java.lang.nullpointerexception can not invoke "net.minecraft.nbt.compoundtag.m_128459_(string)
i also received this error message as well but during this test for some reason it let me join the server, i've tested this out on singleplayer as well and the world works fine nothing seems to be corrupted it just doesn't work for the server.
we've also made multiple worlds for this specific pack i've made and they all have had this problem, randomly sometimes people will be able to join and play normally but other times they get this error and they cant play.
