I went on a few websites and from what I could find, the max volume for the Charge 5 is 94dB, and the Xtreme 3's isn't even 90dB?
How is this possible? the Xtreme 3 looks massive compared to the Charge 5?

You can't compare numbers from different sites. It depends on which tracks you play and how you measure it. So to compare you should take numbers from the same site/reviewer. Same thing for bass extension etc. Even then it can be misleading. I have 2 tribit xsound gos and 2 sony xb33. According to "the list" the xsound go is 1 db louder. Which is funny, cause I had the 2 xsound gos first, but they weren't loud enough for my purpose, that's one of the main reasons I bought the 2 Sonys. Which are indeed significantly louder, and also much better suited for playing at max volume, as they still sound good at max, while the tribits don't. So that number in "the list" is completely misleading here. Not dissing the xsound go here, it is a much smaller and cheaper speaker, so the volume is quite good for its size/prize, but it can't match the xb33 at all. For volumes, you can check e.g. rtings.com , they have most speakers covered. Also note, that bigger speakers usually reach more far, so a small speakers might appear similar in loudness if you are very close, but if you need to cover a largerarea/distance, a bigger speaker will do it much better (but can be a problem regarding neighors/other people around)
