So we need a bigger bed. Our King isn’t big enough for the 4 of us (it was initially my husband and I but our 4.5 year old twins often come sleep with us). We want a family bed but the Texas King, Wyoming King and Alaska King mattresses are either too big or too expensive ($3000 minimum just for the mattress). So here’s my plan….add a twin xl to the side of our King, with an identical bed frame so it looks like it’s one really wide bed. Plus there’s a shop on Etsy who makes custom sheets for a reasonable price and I’ll add a mattress bridge that they use for split kings and hopefully make it look like one big bed with the custom fitted sheet. Anyone try anything like this? It doesn’t seem particularly difficult but wondering if anyone has tried and has some tips.
