I can't speak on makers, but in terms of retailers, Knifewear is a very popular and trusted Canadian retailer. You could try emailing the guys over there and see if they know any smaller, local blade smith's in the area.

Knifewear.com is a fantastic Canadian retailer.
If you check the wiki it has a couple more options on there but Knifewear has the most variety and also fantastic pricing. I've found knives for the exact same price Canadian as they are American on Chefknivestogo and we are at about a 35% difference in currency at the moment.
