I throw alot of backyard parties and power output always matters for keeping the music pumping, but that solid take on balancing wattage with portability really helped me snag better large bluetooth speakers without overspending, honestly a relief. More on reddit.com

May 22, 2025Does anybody have a Bluetooth 'party' speaker that has no issues with latency?
Bluetooth radio technology by default will have latency, and data that misses the target, like packet loss in wifi/internet. If you need solid and latency free audio, I wouldn't bother with anything but a wired cable, I'm not sure why your aux input on the LG had latency but maybe it's to do with onboard fx/filters which need time to process the audio? I'm looking to buy a large size portable speaker for usage at parties and other activitys. I've been looking at the sounboks 4 and the JBL partybox 320, which of these are the best? the soundboks is almost twice the money, but im afraid the JBL wont be loud enough for the usage, i've never heard the JBL at max volume, but i know the soundboks 3 was very loud and it's really sturdy. so im guessing the soundboks 4 should be the same but better. What should i go for?

The Soundboks is definitely significantly louder, but it lacks deep bass. However, I wouldn't blindly trust the manufacturer's decibel specifications. The JBL has the better sound overall. The larger the number of people at your parties, the more in favor of the Soundboks. The JBL Partybox 520 that has been announced for June could also be very interesting for you. By the way, don't waste your time with u/magnummanga . He often makes unqualified statements.
