First LC Dutch Oven: Deep or Regular?
What is deep oven best suited for? Or the wide shallow ovens?

Hi! I’m so excited to be making my first Dutch oven purchase and wanted to invest in a Le Creuset. I usually cook for 2 people and occasionally host for 5-6 (once every month or so). I’m looking at the regular 5.5qt vs the 5.25 deep DO. Anyone have both or prefer one over the other for any reason? This is a big investment for me and probably my only LC for years to come.
I braise on occasion, make soups but I’m trying to branch out with cooking. I would appreciate any insights here!! Thank you!
Update: I ended up shelling out the extra $200 and getting the 5.25 Dutch oven instead of the deep. Best decision ever! Such a versatile pot. Thank you all for your input and advice!
Looking for a gift for my wife's birthday that would solve an annoying problem we have with our current Dutch oven. Our toddler son will eat almost any vegetable, bean, or legume...if they are liquefied into a pasta sauce. We use an immersion blender to mix up a veggie sauce for him in our current Le Creuset Dutch oven when he's in a picky mood, but unfortunately this means a lot of schmutz escapes over the low, 4" sides.
Are there Le Creuset Dutch oven models that have sides over 4"? Maybe closer to 8"? The website seems to prefer measuring in quarts rather than giving specific dimensions, and other retailers provide dimensions for a narrow range of products that don't fit the bill.
