Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x review: Snapdragon laptops get more affordable | PCWorld
June 30, 2025 - The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x’s 15.3-inch 1920×1200 IPS display is the weakest part of the experience. At 300 nits, it’s on the dim side on paper. In real life, it feels not just unusually dim, but also dull.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x review: Incredible battery life has never been so affordable
The IdeaPad Slim 3x sports a 15.3-inch 60Hz IPS touch display. It scored 48.4% on our DCI-P3 color gamut test and had an average brightness of just 296 nits. Despite its flaws, I can't help but love this budget-friendly laptop

For all its problems, the IdeaPad Slim 3x 15 looks pretty attractive when it's on sale. We found our test model for just $569.99 at the time of publishing. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15 First Impressions - Thurrott.com
May 25, 2025 - Aesthetically, the IdeaPad won’t win any awards, but it comes in a handsome Cosmic Blue color that’s very similar to the more expensive Yoga 9i. It doesn’t look or feel cheap. I was a bit nervous about the bundled software, given the price point. There aren’t that many apps and utilities, thankfully, but they do maximum damage. In addition to Dolby Access and Intel Graphics Command Center, there are six Lenovo apps, not counting the user guide link: Lenovo HotKeys (keyboard configuration), Lenovo Now (product registration and Lenovo and third-party upsells), Lenovo Subscription Marketplace (a link to the Lenovo Software & Subscriptions website), Lenovo Vantage (drivers product service, and Lenovo upsells), and Smart Connect (for integration with Lenovo and Motorola phones, tablets, and PCs).

I guess you are referring to this model: Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3X - 2025 - Everyday AI Laptop - Copilot+ PC - 15.3" WUXGA Display - 16 GB Memory - 512 GB Storage - Qualcomm® Snapdragon® X - Luna Grey https://a.co/d/1pbtHUo ($679) To be honest with you, I only heard basics of that laptop. Someone bought it like 2 weeks ago I think on Amazon for less price and posted on Reddit. I cant seem to find it because I didnt save that post or liked it to see on my profile. What I heard was: Pros: Copilot Features are nice with the NPU ability Great battery life Seems like great build quality as well Upgradable second SSD slot for storage Good Anti-Glaring coating Cons: Being Snapdragon processor with weak GPU (slow GPU as they said) More price than better Copilot CPUs better than this I think some sort of low speaker quality issue Only 300 nits with 60Hz display less compared to market range of atleast 400-500nits with atleast 90Hz Disclaimer: According to the research I have done which is minimal, I saw users getting around 15hrs of video playback, 12hrs for multil-tasking day-to-day tasks. Some got 10hrs based on their moderate usage of I think they did editing somewhat. If you want performance, I think Snapdragon X-Plus has better performance than this, you can check it out if its within your budget since these days more performance = more cost.

I recently got this laptop. It is fabulous. The screen is great, typing experience is amazing, snapdragon processor is snappy, thermals are nice, no irritating fan noise, and finally last but not least the battery life is a banger. I got it for 265 gbp new from ebay. Can't complain at all. The unplugged performance is unmatched, and beats much above the price. All things given, I only use this machine for reading, trading, and content consumption. I have a separate gaming PC to do heavy tasks. Therefore, I see this a perfect companion to go with my existing PC setup. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone in that budget category.

July 7, 2025 - The battery, M.2 SSD module, RAM (!), and Wi-Fi module are all readily accessible. At 13.52 x 9.43 x 0.74 inches and 3.59 pounds, the IdeaPad Slim 3 15 is not small, thin, or light, but I never found that to be problematic.

July 5, 2025 -

Hi,

I am about to place an order for this laptop and I would like to hear from those of you more in touch with the laptop market if this looks like a good price for the configuration below:

Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 15AHP10

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS

RAM: 16GB DDR5 5600MHz (dual channel)

Storage: 1TB SSD M.2

Display: 15.3" IPS, 1920x1200 (WUXGA)

Backlit keyboard

Battery: 60 Wh

Price in EUR: €600

I haven't bought a laptop in many years, as I mainly work and play on a desktop, but I wanted something relatively compact to take with me while traveling this summer, maybe even do some remote work away from the heat of the big city, play an occasional game, nothing too demanding (Skyrim-level games, so to speak)..., yet not too small (14") either, as I work with documents and text and I do need some decent display area.

Are there other good choices in this price range? I wouldn't spend more for a laptop that would only complement my main desktop system and would only be used while away from my home office.

Thanks!

UPDATED post to attach pictures of the one I got:

August 24, 2025 - Against high-end Snapdragon X laptops like the Surface Laptop 7 or Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge, priced at ₹1 lakh and above, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x is a revelation on the affordability front. Snapdragon X laptops are not meant for hardcore gaming or workstation use but are ideal for general computing. Office and Productivity: Microsoft Office, web browsing, and emails—as smooth as butter due to ARM optimization. AI Features: Copilot+ integration helps with text summarization, image editing, and one-touch commands. Battery Life: At least 15–16 hours of light usage—something most Intel/AMD laptops in this price range can’t hope to achieve.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 review: A rare miss from Lenovo
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a chassis that feels good to hold, but the display and the internals disappoint. At $769, it just feels too expensive for this experience. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a 15-inch budget touchscreen laptop, and we tested a $769 configuration available through Costco. I'm generally a fan of Lenovo laptops, but this one isn't up to the standard I expect from them. While this laptop does have a nice design and solid build quality, it feels like so many corners have been cut — and the price has crept up enough — that the resulting product isn't a great deal. Hi! I'm planning to buy a laptop for university, I'm studying software engineering. I’ve looked into several options, and the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 seems like the best choice in that price range. I’m interested in hearing about other people’s experiences with this laptop: how is the battery life, is it fast enough? The screen has an IPS panel, so I don’t think it's too bad in that regard. I need the laptop mainly for studying and everyday tasks, and it's important to me that it lasts for 4–5 years. Do you think this laptop is good enough, or should I consider some slightly better and more expensive options? Thanks in advance!
