Hi,
I am in the process of replacing all of our outlets. The local Home Depot carries Leviton so I got some of their Decora receptacles and screw less wall plates to try. After installing them, I noticed that the receptacles don't match the wall plates. The wall plates seem like it is a very cool white while the receptacles are a little on the beige side. I ran back to Home Depot and confirm with a random sample that the Leviton receptacles and wall plates don't match. Some wall plates don't even match each other. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've read that Lutron are the best quality but they are too expensive for the number of outlets we have to redo. Are there other brands that have better matching receptacle and screw less wall plate?

I used Leviton forever until... I bought a bunch of devices for a project and found that they started embossing their name on the decora switches. Super tacky IMO, and will inevitably attract grime like an old school switch with an embossed ON/OFF. It made me mad enough to look at alternatives, and I eventually switched to Eaton and the quality of standard devices seems comparable. Eaton commercial and GFCI outlets are better than Leviton, with a nicer backwire design (not to be confused with back-stab). And from a teardown video I watched, the internals are beefier. The screwless wallplates are at least as good as design, and I have not encountered color matching issues. Prices for the wallplates are obscene for both brands when bought in big box stores. You can do a lot better from a supply house. I have used these guys several times, currently $2.75 for a 1-gang Eaton: https://www.homelectrical.com/1-gang-decorator-wall-plate-screwless-white.ewt-pjs26w.1.html Give Eaton a try and see what you think. Lowe's stocks them.
