I wouldn't advise trying to match greys and tans - they tend to bring out the worst in each other, making the space look dull and bland (more "office cubicle" than "clean kitchen") and each make the other look more grimy than they actually are.
If you're absolutely devoted to the idea of neutrals, I'd recommend going with a white tile that that's in the same tone range as your cabinets - it's hard to tell with the lighting in your photos, but if your cabinets are a "warm" cream, pair them with a tile that's a "warm" white.
