Dutch oven: Lodge USA Enamel or Made In reviews?

I now have two Lodge USA Enamels. First was a 7.5 qt in red, which we bought for some sourdough loaves and cooking dinners and sauces. Got that around Christmas. Then we picked up a 3 qt in blue for bread, about 3 weeks ago. We have used them a lot. Even the 7.5, which is what justified the 3. We have an induction cook top, if that matters to you. For stove top cooking, definitely took a bit to learn temp control, including after taking it off the stove. I'm very happy with both. These are my first enameled, but it wanted something not made in China. Feels like a good middle ground on cost and consumer consciousness. Cleans easily. Look very nice in the China cabinet. I did look at LeCrusets in the local outlet. I wasn't impressed for the price. Or, perhaps, I was shocked by the price. More on reddit.com

Dutch ovens: Is a Lodge Dutch oven BIFL or should I just breakdown and buy a Le Creuset?

Most of my Lodge gear is way older than me. It's also in "better than new" condition considering its history of seasoning. So, BIFLs may be more appropriate. That's no dig on Le Creuset, it'll last lifetimes too, but I'm not going to be burying that stuff in a fiery coal hole down by the river. Lodge Dutch oven: all cast iron or enameled?

Do you own no other cookware? I wouldn't recommend using a Dutch oven for literally everything. They're great for soups, stews, braises, for baking bread, but I would want a frying pan to saute veggies and meat. Seasoned cast iron is going to be more durable. You can't use metal utensils on enamel, and if you heat enamel with no oil or food in it, you can damage the enamel. Also, once it starts chipping, the entire piece needs to be tossed. However, enamel doesn't react with your food, you can cook anything in it and not have to worry about whether the food will dissolve seasoning and you'll have to re-season it, and enamel is generally easier to clean.
