Interestingly no one share anything about this month-old post? What's wrong with this subreddit... Yes, it's Kailh's Low Profile Choc V2 switch. If you remove the keycap, you can see Kailh's logo on the switches. The entire keyboard uses the same switch across all keys depends on which model you've selected. The switch only comes in the most common 3 colours so naturally MX Mechnical comes in 3 flavours as well. The teardown, unlike most online articles and videos suggest, is actually relatively easy and non-destructive. No adhesive at all (very un-Logitech, yeah?) You'll need to: Peel the back sticker at the bottom two corners (you don't have to peel off the entire sticker) and unscrew the two screws. You can feel the screw holes through the sticker before start. The label is quite thick so be gentle if you don't want to leave marks or wrinkles. Then the battery cover will come off on its own, and you can disconnect the battery (important!) Remove all keycaps. Either use a keycap puller, or just by hand. Just do it. You can't break anything, trust me Unscrew all black screws on the metal plate, and then you can remove the back cover of the keyboard. The back cover is held in place by plastic tabs, but it's the smaller ones, so should be quite easy to do with a plastic spudger or a "guitar pick" Once the back cover is off, remove the ribbon cable and the logic board with its two screws. In the process you'll need to be gentle with the sensing wire hook (for the motion activation feature, no need to remove the wire from casing) and the battery extension leads Remove 6x silver screws to free the keyboard plate from the plastic bezel. Again, no adhesive Finally, remove the 4 capped screws that fix the PCB to the metal plate Your journey of solder-free disassembly ends here unfortunately. Logitech added a plastic frame to each switch instead of simply pressure/clip-fit the switches. (Turns out the frame is a part of the switch itself, but still you can't separate PCB from base plate without desoldering all switches first) Meaning to remove the PCB+switches from the metal plate you'll likely need to either desolder one or all switches. But it's definitely doable with some patience. Then you can swap out the switches from the front once it's desoldered from the PCB. Though from the inner space to work with (the bottom cover has those honeycomb-like pattern mostly for structural integrity, and the PCB is in direct contact, and screwed onto, the plastic bezel), foam/padding and hot-swappable sockets are definitely out of the question (at least without damaging the casing). But hey I'm buying into this ecosystem because of the build quality, propriety wireless technology and software suite. If you want the extreme, go the DIY route instead. To me, being able to lube the switches and stabilisers, and at most, customising the switches with some soldering required, is more than good enough. Answer from xmagic5589 on reddit.com
