But not sure which cable i should buy. Can you please help select the correct cable for my mac. Thanks
Are there downsides to using a non-Apple USB-C cable with Apple macbook charger?
Just bought a new M1 MacBook Air. Which charger / charger accessories should I buy?
USB-C cable standards?
Wattage should be fine as I believe apples charger brick is only 30W, but you may need a higher amp charger. Check the charger brick of the original charger to see how many amps it outputs and get a charger that is capable of at least that amount. Your cables should be fine.
More on reddit.comMy concept for a MacBook MagSafe redesign that would fit in a modified type c port.
I want the new MagSafe to be implemented as:
-
a dedicated port (so you can charge without tying up a USB-C port)
-
without removing charging capability from existing USB-C ports (so you can still charge from inexpensive chargers/cables/batteries)
-
an inexpensive ~2" adapter cable that connects a USB-C cable to the MagSafe port
Can I get Apple Macbook Pro Charger Cable products delivered?

I'm travelling out of country for the next two weeks and stupidly forgot my macbook charger at home.
Instead of tracking down an Apple store and spending $100 on a new one, I found a used 96W Apple charger at a discount electronics shop. Only cost $20, pretty sweet deal. Problem is it didn't include a cable. Since I have a 2020 MBP I need a USB-C cable to charge.
I have a random USB-C cable with me, and I tried it. It's able to carry a charge and by leaving it in overnight got my laptop to 100%. But I feel like my laptop battery is draining faster than normal. Busy travelling at the moment so I don't have time to properly test this. I'm just wondering if there's a downside to using an off-brand cable for the next 2 weeks. Don't want to cause long term damage to my laptop battery.
Anyone with experience or thoughts on this?
