The biggest standout in this film is Bondrewd who is just an amazing antagonist. He is loving and compassionate with no genuine ill will to the protagonists but will commit horrible things with no remorse. He wants to discover all the mysteries of the abyss and believes everything he does is completely justified.

We finally have some news: according to the obi (the promotional strip) attached to the fourteenth volume of the series, the anime sequel will be a series of films, with the first installment set to premiere in theaters in 2026.
The first film in the series (the fourth overall, following the two recap movies of the first season and Dawn of the Deep Soul) will be titled Made in Abyss: The Awakening Mystery!

That seems like a bit of an odd decision. I'm not sure how you'd turn the current story arc into a movie series, at least not the part we've seen so far. I guess they could end it on a cliffhanger just after Nanachi gets attacked, but then the rest of the movie would be mostly info dumps, dialogue, and exposition. Doesn't seem like that would work well.

Can people judge the content amount by volumes instead of chapters for MiA, because this gives a very misleading feel.
