Is that the one with the replaceable battery? The battery life is ok but it’s annoying having to find a battery when it goes flat. In terms of interoperability, it’ll work with any device that supports Bluetooth mice. Answer from Inner_West_Ben on reddit.com

Apple Magic Mouse (USB-C)
The Magic Mouse’s store page notes that a system requirement for the new USB-C Magic Mouse is a "Mac with macOS 15.1 or later," or an "iPad with iPadOS 18.1 or later." You can try the mouse with Bluetooth-enabled Macs on earlier OS versions, but functionality may be partial. Inverted-turtle charging persists into the USB-C era

New Apple Magic Mouse has all the same problems, but Lightning ain't one [Review]
November 16, 2024 - The black color highlights the glossy mirror-like finish in a way the other colors don’t. Unlike the Magic Trackpad, which has a matte finish, it doesn’t look like a void on your desk. The clickiness of a mouse is one of its most important qualities. You do it hundreds, if not thousands, of times in a workday.

r/macbookair on Reddit: Apple mouse - is it worth it?
August 24, 2023 -

Hello! I use a MacBook Air M1 with programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Final Cut, and Figma. Despite the fact that before buying I heard numerous positive reviews about how comfortable the touchpad is in comparison with the mouse, I was not impressed. After several hours of work, my palm begins to get tired and sore, which was not the case with the mouse. I tried connecting my old mouse with an adapter and it worked, but the scrolling was very jerky. In search of a solution, I installed an application that fixed this, but it was very draining of the battery. I removed it, and am now looking for a replacement that works via Bluetooth (without a USB adapter) and is comfortable to work with. I thought about Magic Mouse, but the reviews about it are very controversial, and I don't know if it's worth buying. I would like to hear your opinion, thanks in advance

Apple Magic Mouse
Adheres to Apple aesthetics Apple has again succeeded in producing a beautifully designed product that retains the company's classic stamp. We measured the Magic Mouse at 114mm long by 58mm wide by 13mm tall. Apple's latest pointer, the Magic Mouse, is included with its new desktops, but you can purchase it separately for £56. Just don't confuse it with the Mighty Mouse, which differs greatly. The Magic Mouse has had an aerodynamic facelift and also supports application-sensitive touch gestures. Adheres to Apple aestheticsApple has again succeeded in producing a beautifully designed product

You win some, you lose some: a review of Apple’s Magic Mouse - Ars Technica
November 3, 2009 - I like the styling and the mouse’s functionality, and unlike some of my relatives, I can remember that something different will happen if I click with my finger on the right side of the mouse. Of course, the Apple Mouse has its drawbacks, the chief of which is the tendency of the scrolling orb to get gummed up with palm cheese and stop working correctly. When Apple announced the Magic Mouse, the feature list intrigued me, especially the gestures.

Review: Magic Mouse - Current Mac Hardware Discussions on AppleInsider Forums
Gimped touch functionality plus ergonomics that aren't quite up to par all but break the deal. But the speed and the vertical scrolling are sweet. I'll hang on to the Magic Mouse for a while longer and see if the seas suddenly part, but I'm not expecting any miracles.

r/mac on Reddit: Is the Magic Mouse worth it?
September 20, 2024 -

Hey guys, I recently bought a new MacBook for my work, which involves using MS 365, mailing, searching and I will use it to watch some videos and films, listen to music in my spare time. I like the trackpad on mac but I am considering buying a mouse too. Do you guys think the Magic Mouse is worth the price, because it’s very expensive for a mouse or should I go look for cheaper alternatives. I currently own an iPhone, an iPad and AirPods Pro 2, so I’m very invested in the ecosystem. What do you recommend?

Edit: looks like there’s some mixed opinions about the Magic Mouse. Thanks for all your suggestions, I guess the best thing to do is to try one before purchasing. Feel free to comment your opinion as it can help anyone who’s interested in buying it too :)

November 14, 2025 - Apple clearly put form over function when designing the Magic Mouse. The design is slim and minimalistic with visible physical buttons or LED indicators. The mouse can register you touching and tapping it almost like a track pad.

Answer (1 of 2): For me, absolutely, especially considering that it was included in the price when I bought my iMac. It know that a lot of people don't like the feel or the shape of them, and I’m glad that I’m lucky enough to find it comfortable, but I find it the best mouse to use with macOS.
