I have one too but I like it and feel quite a few people may misunderstand how it’s “intended” to be used. The idea is that you stick it on at the start of the day, and your phone will slowly use power from the battery pack throughout the day and then once the pack is depleted, take it off and you’re still left with a phone at 90%. It’s technically not meant to be a straight out battery charger to completely charge your phone once it’s low. The thermal management and use as a 15w MagSafe puck when plugged in, is a bonus for me. Easily Apple's own MagSafe Battery Pack. Most expensive but it's the only one designed in a way that has a curvature that fits your palm. Much more pricier than competitors but it's design is leagues above others. More on reddit.com

I have both an Apple magsafe battery pack and an ESR 10,000 mah magsafe battery pack. The Apple magsafe battery pack gets slapped on at full charge and extends my 14 pro max’s battery life by a good amount (few hours). It’s also super nice for gaming without having to be tied to an outlet. I only use the Apple battery for gaming as it keeps my phone from getting hot. Note: the battery does go down when gaming (doesn’t get up charged) as it’s meant to extend and protect your battery, not charge it to 100% When I’m charging all my devices at the end of the day, I typically only charge the Apple MagSafe battery with my AirPods on it as the Apple MagSafe battery does it’s job at keeping my phone at 90% so there’s no need to charge my phone. The ESR battery pack is nice to have because of the capacity and kickstand. I typically use this at home when I’m cooking or eating for the stand, or when I’m watching videos in bed for extended periods. It is noticeably bulkier than the Apple MagSafe battery. Another plus is that you can charge other devices via a usb-c port. The Apple battery is slim, protects your phone by optimizing charging, and is convenient to just slap on and use. The ESR battery is nice for the extra juice and kickstand. Both are worth it. More on reddit.com

First I will start with what’s good about it. It’s great if you just need a quick charge to get you through the day as you can easily remove and add it to you conscience. Now what’s worse. Firstly it’s bulkier than previous models making your device even harder to grip. It also does not have wireless charging support (unlike the old cases) so you need to dig out a lightning cable which is a problem if like me you use MagSafe exclusively. Another con is usable capacity. The old cases over doubled my phones battery as it used a direct lightning connector whereas since this product is wireless it’s much less efficient leading to horrible efficiency and heat build up. This means that charging g stops when you are using your phone and the screen is constantly dimming. Coming back to the usable battery it only gave me 45 percent when starting from 0 on my iPhone 13 Pro. This makes me with they brought back the old cases or revamp this design with a bigger size now that the mini is dead wireless charging to charge it and usb c. They could also make new colors too.

If you’re talking about the old battery cases I’m 99% sure they didn’t have wireless charging support(if you mean charging the case through a wireless charger) since they were charged with a lightning cable. It also seems like you and many others don’t get the use case and purpose of the MagSafe battery pack
