I'm still new to this stuff, so take my post with grain of salt. My guess is that, you can't find conf file in /usr/share/doc, because you installed flatpak version of mangohud and it is in different location. You can use Goverlay https://github.com/benjamimgois/goverlay which would make configuration of mangohud much easier, since you don't need to edit text file with this program. However if one program is from one source e.g. flatpak and other program is from another e.g. default distro package manager, then you might run into issues. For example i used to be unable to use mangohud with Steam, because i had flatpak version of Steam i fixed it by installing Steam from zypper package manager (openSUSE). More on reddit.com

You could do something like this as steam launch option if I interpret the docs correctly: MANGOHUD_CONFIG=read_cfg,fps_limit=120 %command% This way it will load the config file as usual even though you use specific config options for this command More on reddit.com

Hi all, Linux newb here. I'm trying to use MangoHud to monitor my FPS. If you're not familiar, it's just an overlay like Fraps. I've been using it for a while now, and I have Mangohud working fine. I just need to be able to configure it. I want to show the RAM usage as well as the VRAM usage.
The only problem is, for some goofy reason they only supplied an example of the config file. It says "MangoHud.conf.example".
Apparently, they didn't actually create a real config file and put it in place. The location of the example file is /usr/share/doc/Mangohud.
I looked all around for the real one, and I can't find it anywhere. I found a video that says it's supposed to be in a folder located in /home/.config/mangohud. But I have no such folder. Do I simply create one there and move the example config file there? Then rename it and have the file magically start working?
