Was cleaning the haze immediately after with warm water and a sponge. I go to look at it this morning and I have a number of tiles with yellow "rectangles". Clearly this is either from the grouting or the act of cleaning it. I've read that this might be caused by minerals in the water?

December 10, 2016 - I started to scrub. First I tried a mild solution of dishwashing soap and water. Then marble cleaner/polish. The yellow stain didn’t fade a bit.

This yellow discoloration can be removed using a commercial poultice or Hydrogen Peroxide. Still, the stains will continue to appear as the process is repeated, so once the material is installed, there isn't a permanent solution.

We have a full marble (slab) backsplash and thus far (it's been 19 months) not a single problem -- no staining / etching (as far as I can tell). My partner is a high-heat cooker (stir-fry) and total slob -- splatters everywhere, and nothing, even including tomato sauce bubbling / splattering -- no stains.

July 25, 2020 - Hairspray, air freshener, and other aerosol sprays can sometimes cause grout discoloration. Check the product labels to see whether products contain dyes, polymers, or other ingredients that may cause grout to turn yellow.

This issue is particularly common when sealants are reapplied without thorough cleaning in between, as each new layer traps dirt and grime underneath, eventually causing a yellow cast.
