Title. I’ve been shopping online at Costco narrowing down some mattresses and decided I need to go into a brick and mortar store to see what type / firmness I should go for. I go into sleep country and most of the king size mattresses run 3-4K. At Costco I’m hard pressed to find one for more than 2k, in fact most hover around $1200. So what gives? They are all the same brands, although I can’t seem to match any of the Costco models to ones I see at sleepcountry or Leon’s etc. Do the major brands just sell a proprietary mattress at a discount just for Costco and is the quality lesser? Thanks!
Been mattress shopping for a few weeks now and its brutal. One person gives a mattress 5 stars, best sleep ever, and the next person says its garbage and the worst mattress they've ever tried.
So rather than risk it with a super-expensive mattress, I'm going to go the Costco route. Looks like there are a lot of options from Leesa to Casper to Simply Modern to whatever else.
Out of all the options at costco, I'm wondering what the best choice is? Let's say $1600 or less...
I'm leaning toward the Leesa Legend Hybrid or Casper. Would loooove some help here! I'm so nervous about making the wrong call!
So my husband and I need to get a new mattress and are thinking about Costco for it. We bought a brand new mattress at a random mattress store back in 2017 right after we got married. In less then 7 months it had formed huge divots from my husbands pressure points down the bed. You couldn’t find anywhere to lie comfortably. We tried taking it back to the random mattress retailer after 7 months and they said “nope, so sad. Would you like to buy a NEW one?” So our supposedly first big purchase after getting married turned into a huge waste of $2k bucks.
Since then we have literally bought second hand mattresses when needed at a fraction of the cost. Things were great with that until my dear mother came to visit. You’d think she slept in an Iron Maiden. She then tears the sheets off and saw it had a goodwill tag (the horror). I can’t describe the mix of anger, bewilderment, disgust, et al that came from that woman’s mouth. (I hurried and grabbed the sheets before she saw they were from IKEA just in case that was an issue!)
That brings me to my question for everyone. Anyone acquire a mattress from our store and savior, Costco? I’d like to get some different opinions but let’s be real. The ONLY thing I care about is the return policy. The 2017 divot debacle cannot happen again! Id like to know that if anything happens all I have to do is take it back like that 2009 sofa set, those too small pants and anything from Amylu (sorry guys. Just ew) Thanks for listening! And sorry for any grammatical boo-boos, I’m on mobile
Edit: I really want to thank everyone who commented on their experiences. I have a great idea on what we are going to pick. I’ll update the he post in the future once we decide!!
Hey all! I’m on the hunt for a new mattress and was looking at some on Costco. I am totally green to mattress shopping and have never bought in for myself before and not even sure what to look for. I’m wanting to spending no more than $700 of at all possible. I don’t need anything super fancy, just better than what I have now. Is this budget realistic? How was your experience been buying a mattress and Costco and if you have and brand recommendations or tips that’d be incredibly helpful! Thanks!
If you can wait a few weeks they usually have a sale on mattresses right around Christmas. $700 will easily get you the mattress, box spring, bedstand.
I have actually bought a bunch of mattresses from costco, recently. I bought one, then my roommate bought one, then she bought one for her parents. I think this was all 2018/2019.
I read the reviews extensively. I knew I wanted memory foam, but did my research and ended up picking a different mattress than I had originally planned.
The actual delivery was easy. It comes in a box, you open it, let it puff up for a day, and then you have a mattress.
All three mattresses were blackstone, minimum size 12 inches.
Who here has done research and decided on a mattress and is happy with it? Is a latex/innerspring a good choice? Or memoryfoam/innerspring?
Hey folks, I'm hoping for some advice on getting a mattress from Costco. I want a queen size bed under $1,000. I'm 6' and a side sleeper, my girlfriend is 5'6 and a side/back sleeper. I suffer from chronic muscle pain so getting a good mattress has been a challenge for me. I've tried the following mattresses so far:
-
[Bear Original](https://www.bearmattress.com/products/bearmattress) - too soft and/or not supportive enough (not sure if this is the same thing).
-
[Novaform 14" Comfort Grande Plus Gel Memory Foam Mattress Medium](https://novaformcomfort.com/products/comfortgrande%E2%84%A2-plus-14-gel-memory-foam-mattress-queen) - this caused back pain for my girlfriend. Otherwise it was decent enough.
-
[Casper Select 12" Memory Foam Medium-Firm Mattress](https://casper.com/learn/costco/) - this mattress is so hot and still causes back pain for my girlfriend.
-
[Sealy Silver Chill Firm](https://www.mattressfirm.com/hybrid-premium-silver-chill-14-firm-mattress/5637148736.p) - I tried this mattress in person, and it's the only experience I've had where I could feel my muscles relax when I lay down on it. I think the ratio of comfort layer to supportive layers is just right.
So those are my main priorities: good back support and cool - preferably medium to medium firmness. I've read through the FAQ to try and understand foam qualities but I'm struggling to find the details on densities and such for Costco's offerings (maybe there's a site I don't know about). In terms of pricing, I'd like to spend as little as possible to get something decent - yes, I know this is fantasy, but I don't need a mattress that will last me ten years. I would appreciate any and all advice, thank you!
I love Costco but I’ve struggled finding a soft enough mattress to relieve pressure — I’m also a side sleeper. We ended up going with the Amerisleep as5 hybrid and it’s great so far.
We are also looking into getting a Costco mattress! I'm not sure what to pick for me as I am a stomach sleeper only
Hi All! What’s your favorite firm mattress for queen size platform bed? I would like to stay under $1000.
My current mattress is a $500 memory foam bought on Amazon and it worked great for 5 years, but it started to sag.
What about Costco choices:
Sealy Posturepedic Pro Lincoln Heights 14" Firm or Plush Mattress https://www.costco.com/sealy-posturepedic-pro-lincoln-heights-14%22-firm-or-plush-mattress.product.4000383457.html
Sleep Science 13" Bamboo Cool Firm Mattress - https://www.costco.com/sleep-science-13%22-bamboo-cool-firm-mattress.product.100524756.html
Thank you for the advice!
I'm moving out in the next 3 months and most of my money is going to that process. I can't afford to drop much more than a thousand. I can barely even afford that. I can't sleep on the floor when I first move out(or maybe I should what do y'all think?) so what's something cheap that won't break my back
My big issue is that I'm fat and I don't plan on that changing. Ive read around that I should be looking for latex or inner coils or hybrids of the 2. But yeah I can't afford it
What's the next best option for someone my weight? Should I diy my own bed I'm also deathly scared of fiberglass so it's made my search even harder
Edit: my price range while I save for something better is hopefully less than $700 and I'm a stomach sleeper. I never thought to look at FB market place but how do I tell if these companies are legit
Edit I think I'm rlly liking the prices of the Bear Original or Today Mattress by Engineerered sleep
Talk me out of which one I shouldn't get
It looks like the $1,800 Tempur-Pedic and $1,400 Avocado are highly rated as top-tier options in this sub—can anyone confirm? I’m thinking about going all-in on the best since I’m returning my Sealy Carver Firm after a few years of sagging and back pain.
Update: Ordered the Novaform Legacy Premier since it seems firmer than the Leesa Legend. From what I’ve gathered, the Avocado is the better choice if I want something less firm compared to the Leesa Legend. Novaform was on sale, while Avocado wasn’t, so I figured I’d try Novaform for now. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll wait for Avocado to go on sale and return/exchange.
Thanks, everyone!
What’s the best value in a mattress you can get at Costco??
I’m shopping for a king size bed and ready to upgrade!
I’ve lived on queens forever.
Edit: willing to pay for a more $$expensive$$ one as I’m upgrading, but I want to make sure it’s worth it. I know two people who have a tempurpedic for example and were unhappy with it!
Are the mattreses that Costco sells any good? Can they be tried first? Can they be returned and if so, how do you do that? Do you bring it back yourself or do they pick it up? How long do you have to return it?
And if you have, would you give me your brief review of the one you bought? I’m in the market for a new king size. Thank you!
I am a 150 lb. male that usually sleeps alone with light back problems.
There seems to be so much conflicting information when it comes to purchasing a quality mattress. I have tried to do my due diligence on researching what I tried out at the mattress store, but there is always a mix of positive and negative reviews online.
I am a side sleeper that just wants a quality mattress that will last for a long time. I would prefer to spend around 1500, but I can go as high as 3000 if it is deemed necessary. I just want to know what brands to look out for. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Tempur-Pedic I tried out. I really liked the Sealy silver chill plush hybrid, and the Beautyrest plush hybrid. Upon further research, there were a lot of bad reviews about the longevity of each of these. I kind of enjoyed the Purple #2 mattress, but the reviews also scared me.
If possible, I just want to know what brands to look for and what companies are great to support. I live in Denver, CO. Mattress Firm was off-putting with the high pressure sales tactics, but I really liked the people at Denver Mattress.
Thank you all so much. This is causing me so much anxiety.
