I'd like to reduce snoring and have tried things such as mouth tape, those nose plug things, etc. they don't really work well.

recently bought a new memory foam mattress and am waiting for it to be delivered. the sales person recommended an adjustable bed frame where the back (the pillow side) could be raised by remote control.

unfortunately its like a $200-300 upgrade on my regular bed frame.

does it really work?

some other options are a wedge pillow

or a mattress wedge (placed under the mattress to elevate it)

anyone has experience with all three?

Adjustable bed frame does help, if your back can tolerate it. I have to raise it pretty high to help. Doesn't solve it for me, and my lower back despises the extra pressure. But its definitely better than nothing. Used to have a mattress wedge/frame. Couldn't tell it reduced snoring at all, but helped with a brief bout of reflux. A good wedge pillow isn't cheap, and nowhere near as useful/helpful as the adjustment bed frame. A drawback to wedge pillow is, if you sleep on your side at all, your lower back gets torqued. I didn't notice it at first but after using it a while, I can no longer stand that lateral torqueing on low back.

I've used a wedge pillow in the past (before I got my CPAP) and currently have an adjustable bed frame. Wedge pillow didn't help my snoring at all (pre CPAP) but I did feel a little more rested. I got the adjustable bed before I was diagnosed with apnea, specifically to help with lower back pain. It's the kind that raises both your upper body and your knees (they call it zero gravity mode) specifically to decompress your lower spine and relieve pain in your back. That helps with the pain alot if you sleep on your back but its not great for side sleeping. And side sleeping is better for obstructive apnea - events are worse when you sleep on your back because gravity causes your tongue to fall back and block your airway. I don't use my adjustable bed in the 'up' mode all the time - I use it for apnea when I have a cold or allergies or am extra tired - as an addition to the CPAP. I'll use the zero gravity mode a few times a month when my back is acting up, but I have to sleep on my back for that to work. For apnea, I only raise the upper part of the bed and sleep on my side. It does help. It's up to you whether you want to spend the extra money, but adjustable beds can be used in flat mode as well so you are just adding an option to the bed. I think it's worth it but I'm treating 2 different things with it. Btw, adjustable beds are also great for reading in bed, watching TV or using your laptop. So there's that. :)
