How do I cancel my free trial?
Are there older versions of Microsoft Office available for free? I have a full license for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 on a CD but I am not able to transfer it to my new computer :(
I haven’t seen much news about this but Microsoft recently rolled out something interesting. They now have a free version of Microsoft 365, basically the modern MS Office, that works on both desktop and web. You can actually download it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/download-office
What's the catch?
It’s ad supported, only Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are included in the free edition, and there are some limitations compared to the full Microsoft Office license version. Microsoft probably did this because of the popularity of Google Docs and the fact it’s free. This free edition is most likely aimed at users who don’t need all the features, just very basic edits, and don’t want to pay for a full Microsoft Office key or subscription.
Curious what you all think, do you see this free version of Microsoft 365 becoming a real alternative to Google Docs, or do you think most people will still stick to paid MS Office for work or school?
I ended up activating and entering card details to move forward, then went into account and checked "cancel auto renew" option.
Then removed the card details from the account.
I prefer not to have my card details stored anywhere.
Hello Lilyana J,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I am a Microsoft user just like you, I hope you are doing well.
If you have Microsoft 365 product key, you need to redeem the product key to your Microsoft account in order to install and activate Office on your PC. The redemption process shouldn't require a payment method but if you are prompted to, please specify at which point you are prompted to enter a payment method.
To redeem the Office 365 product key:
Step 1: Go to www.office.com/setup or Microsoft365.com/setup.
Step 2: Sign in with your Microsoft account, or create one if you don't have one.
Step 3: Enter your product key, without hyphens, if prompted.
Step 4: Follow the prompts to finish the redemption process.
Once you have redeemed the product key to your Microsoft account, you can then install Office 365 by signing in https://office.com/myaccount on the PC.
You will find Office 365, click install. Once you have successfully completed installation, you need to sign in your Microsoft account in any Office app to activate Office.

I bought a computer from Costco this month. One of the included programs was Microsoft Office 365 Personal, 1 user.
I used the provided code with Microsoft, then I got an email from Microsoft saying I'm going to be charged $99.95 in February to continue using Office.
Does anyone know how long the included Office subscription is? Is it really only 4 months?
What specifically are you wanting access to?
Office 365 is free, completely if you’re happy to use the web only.
CTRL+ALT+WINKEY+SHIFT will take you straight to it.
If you need to look at the business side, you can use an MSDN subscription, however this itself works out more than simply paying for a license, if you only want specific pieces.
Hi everyone, how can I get free or cheaper access to Microsoft 365 business subscription I want to start learning Microsoft 365 but don’t really want to pay monthly fee. Microsoft has discontinued Microsoft DEV program. I need it just for learning purpose.
Thanks
