why are Minecraft 1.7.10 mods breaking the game
This may lag your pc a bit but try doing F3+A ingame. Sounds like a classic case of chunk bugging. This should reload all the chunks and remove any errors such as incorrect shading. More on reddit.com

October 25, 2020 - You can find crash reports in the same space as where you add mods to the mods folder (in your .minecraft if you know where that is after seeing a tutorial, the easiest way to get to .minecraft is to go through the resource packs menu under options and you will find the resource packs folder from the left button in that menu, back out of the resource packs folder and your at .minecraft. If Forge didn't create a mods folder for you as it's supposed to just create a new folder and call it 'mods' with no capitals and put your 1.7.10 mods in that folder).

when i use ichun util, animation api, lootbags,(and probably many more) it loads fine and all and i can open a world but the chunks dont load properly and the entity textures become solid black. i’ve disabled all mods and tried out individual ones so theres no clashing. besides they’ve all worked fine together in the past. was there a change to the app itself recently?
edit: forgot to mention the whole screen turns into one colour depending on which one im looking at on another texture (block, entity, sky, clouds) whenever im not in first person or im holding an item
