If I understand what you’re asking…. It’s tough to give exact settings for every DSO because conditions matter more than the object itself — ambient light, moon phase, location, atmosphere, temperature, etc. All of that changes your results. Think in terms of signal-to-noise, not presets: • Gain = brightness vs. noise tradeoff • Exposure = how long each frame collects light (limited by tracking) • Total integration time = what really improves detail A solid starting baseline on the DWARF 3: • EQ mode (always a must!) • 15–30s exposures • Gain 60 (good general-purpose default) • 300–400 subs minimum (more is better — or split across multiple nights and Mega Stack using the same filter) Use Atlas’ suggested filter for each target — that helps maximize contrast and detail. And don’t skip dark frames matched to your exposure and gain. That alone can make or break how clean your final stack looks. More on reddit.com

I have a dwarf 2. It's a very nice bit of kit, but it does fall short of the 3 in most aspects. The dwarf 3 is an improvement in almost every area. That said, I really like my dwarf 2, the images are amazing and for what I paid, I think I got a stellar deal. See what I did there? I paid $180 for the solar elite version that has ND filters for looking at the sun, a case, and a few other extras like the tripod and an SD card. More on reddit.com

I don't own all three, but frequent the posts everywhere, and the S50 is easily the best when it comes to detail. Aperture is king. I haven't seen anyone with an S30 or dwarf 3 rivaling what I can do with my S50 (all three of them ;-) ) Be careful referring them to toys as you'll have a lot of angry people taking umbrage with that.
