As someone who used a cheap $40 sander then the big handle Makita then a Festool ETS EC 125/3 I like to think I have a pretty well informed opinion on this. The biggest things to me are the lack of vibration going into my hand and the amazing dust extraction when hooked up to a shop vac or dust extractor. It also sands faster and leaves a perfect finish without trying, I have to purposely be a dumbass with sanding technique to induce swirl marks at 120 grit. Also good sand paper really matters pick up some 3M xtrac cubitron paper no matter what RO sander you are using. Answer from AccurateIt on reddit.com

July 12, 2022 - Still the higher end orbital sanders have less vibration, better dust extraction and are a lot less noisy. Did you not notice this or is it not important enough? I can imagine the price being too high for a mirka or festool.
