Most dust extractors have comparable performance and swapping brands shouldn't cause issues, however a dust extractor is different from a shop vac. I'm assuming your Henry is a shop vac, not a dust extractor. Dust extractors have significantly higher static suction, which is necessary to forcibly evacuate the fine particle debris from tools like sanders. A shop vac is only about 60% as strong, because it was never intended for that usage. It'll still be better than nothing, but it will not clear out the fine debris the same way a dust extractor would, and so you'll get more loading on the sander. In short: Connecting a Mirka sander to a Mirka dust extractor will not be significantly better or worse than connecting it to a dust extractor from Festool or Fein or Hilti, but it will be significantly worse than connecting it to any kind of shop vac. Mirka is a sanding and abrasive company where quality sanding tools and abrasives are literally their entire business. Festool is a company that has sanders. They're good sanders, definitely in the top echelons, but it's not quite there. Used side by side the quality difference is clear - the festool fan club will hate me for saying it, but it's not the winner of that battle. With the caveat of - if you're already in the festool ecosystem there's no reason to change now. Now to piss off both fan groups: Neither is necessary. They're both fantastic and if you have your heart set on a premium tool you can't go wrong with either of them - but if you're just buying them because the internet tells you you're not a real tool guy if you don't have these brands you're wasting your money. I have a Mirka Leros with the same problem.  I will say on the bottom of my board there are two good sized fuses traced directly to the power pins. Yes my board was totally encased in rubber as well. So if you heard a pop sound, maybe check for those. They are about $0.30 each. But of coarse while trying to get that rubber of I tore a coil inductor off. I tried fixing it but with no luck.. unfortunately I can’t rule out that the fuse would have fixed it due to my extra damage. Though one of the fuses had blown. I bought a new replacement board.. and I can’t believe it.. it still doesn’t work!  So I’m thinking obviously it is something with the motor. It has feedback wires so maybe in order to turn on a current from the board has to go through a motor sensor then back to the board before it will power up. The motor has six wires. I hope something here will help.  I wish I knew how to diagnose a motor like this. More on reddit.com
