Mom and dad need new dining chairs. They are both bigger people as are many of the people in our extended family. The dining table gets used for meals, playing cards, drinking coffee…more like a living room.
I’m at a complete loss on how to even shop for this. The table itself is stained ash trestle table with a pedestal base (think 70’s—the top is about 3” thick).
What’s a comfortable chair?
We're board/TTRPG gamers who like to host dinner parties, so we spend a lot of time sitting around our dining table, and we're finding that although our IKEA chairs seem sturdy, they are not easy on the body. I'm hoping this community can help me find replacements.
For material they need to be leather or microsuede, no fabric, because we have (asshole) cats. They must also be upholstered and have good give in the cushions. Preferably with steel frames that flex, so there is a bit of bounciness to the chair. (I'd love lumbar support too, but I realize that is probably not happening.)
I found one so far that fits the criteria, but seriously, $1000 for one chair? I am willing to spend the money to get quality, but $10K for all my guests to sit down is not feasible for me.
Any suggestions?
