Go to a grocery store and ask for boxes. I used to work at a grocery store and we were always holding boxes for people. Just go to the produce section and ask for banana boxes. Then, go to the dairy section and ask them for egg boxes. Both have handles and are made to carry heavy weight. Go to a grocery store and ask for boxes. I used to work at a grocery store and we were always holding boxes for people. Just go to the produce section and ask for banana boxes. Then, go to the dairy section and ask them for egg boxes. Both have handles and are made to carry heavy weight. How did no-one mention this: go to craigslist and look for people giving away their moving boxes for free (there's always a ton) or selling their old moving boxes. I have never really had to purchase moving boxes (maybe something like $20.00 for 50 boxes, but they were good solid UHaul kind). Then when your done moving, repeat the favor by posting your boxes on craigslist for free (easy way to get rid of all those boxes and not pollute) or sell them for a few bucks. It's the karmic-cycle of moving boxes.
