So I am planning to buy a chromebook mostly for media consumption, but one my friend told me that we cannot add extension on chrome browser in chromebook. is that true ? ex. AdBlocker, Metamask.
I have an old Chromebook my mother gave me, It is Chrome OS version 93.0.4577.107
I'm not in a space where I'm able to buy another laptop, but needed one for several things in my life. So buying a new Chromebook is not an option, at least for a few more months. And tbh I'd rather spend money on windows.
I just want to download UBlock again and change my theme. Both things I cannot do on this version. What's weird is that some of my extensions did get installed when I set up the computer. Extensions that I wouldn't be able to download if they weren't already on my Chrome account. (Grammarly, Dark Reader, Save Image as, and a few others) So that leads me to hope there's a way to at the very least get some extensions running, even though the computer cannot update. I'm probably wrong though.
If the absolute only option is Linux, I know someone who will be able to do that for me. It's just not the best option for me as I have 0 experience with it, and tbh I'm lazy.
Let me know, if not I'll just keep using this one until I can buy a computer with ANY basic features still enabled.
Storage Location for Unpacked Extensions
Extension engine does not explicitly change their location or add a reference to its local paths, they are left in the place where there are selected from in all Operating Systems.
Ex: If I load a unpacked Extension from E:\Chrome Extension the unpacked Extension is still in the same location
Storage Location for Packed Extensions
Navigate to chrome://version/ and look for Profile Path, it is your default directory and Extensions Folder is where all the extensions, apps, themes are stored. (If you have several browser profiles set up in Chrome, you will want to view the chrome://version/ page from the profile where the extension is installed.)

Since chrome has come up with the multiple profiles you will not get it directly in C:\Users\<Your_User_Name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions but you have to first type chrome://version/ in a tab and then look out for Profile path inside that and after you reach to your profile path look for Extensions folder in it and then folder with the desired extension Id
