Why did an item disappear from my Amazon orders?

If you have a missing item from your package, it may have been shipped separately. You can check whether the missing item is in another shipment by signing into your Amazon account and going to "Your Orders." Beside the image of your item, click the "Track Package" button to find the delivery date for the shipment.

Can you delete an Amazon order from your history?

The short answer is that you can't completely delete an order from your history. There isn't an option to delete an order you've placed through your Amazon account from the purchase history. As a workaround, you can archive your order history.

r/amazon on Reddit: Order not showing up under recent orders??
July 12, 2016 -

Hi r/Amazon! I recently purchased a notebook, it wasn't from Amazon but from a seller on Amazon. I got the confirmation email, and the money came out of my bank account so I assumed everything was normal. I usually use the app, and when I went to the "orders" tab, it wasn't showing up. I then went to my browser and it showed up when I went that route. It was fine for a few days, but now it's not showing up in my browser either! It's like there's no trace of me ordering it on Amazon, just in my email and bank account.

Am I looking in the wrong place or something? Should I contact amazon??

Just a potential fix: you might be in the Amazon of other country, (the Amazon app also changes country sometimes though it asks you), you need to set the country back to the one where you purchased it and that would be it. You may do this by going to your email and click track the shipment of the product you bought

Add me to the growing list encountering this as well. I did my family's Christmas shopping last night and ordered over $600 worth of toys using my Amazon credit card to get the 12 months special financing. I received the confirmation email after the order was placed with order numbers for each shipment. I checked my order history last night before logging out and it showed all my family's toys as expected. Fast forward to this morning and I wake up to an account-alerts email from Amazon saying they detected suspicious activity on my account about 15 minutes after the order was placed and they reversed any recent account changes, cancelled all recent orders, assigned a temporary password, and that I'll need to change it upon logging in again. They also recommend I add two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect my account. But I already have 2FA enabled on my account; apparently whatever systems they have in place to detect and prevent fraud doesn't verify whether an account already has 2FA enabled. I log in this morning, change my password, and check my order history: none of the toys I ordered last night are showing up in my recent orders. I clicked the "Cancelled Orders" link in the top right and they don't show up there either. It's like my order just vanished; not in my history but not cancelled either. My Amazon account shows no record of me ever placing the order despite having received a confirmation email with all the details. I logged into my Amazon credit card account (Synchrony Bank) and it shows three charges: one for a single dollar which I'm assuming is a temporary hold, and two others totaling about half the total order. So apparently some of the charges went through; not sure if they'll make it all the way to posting but it at least showing pending as of now. I also received an email that one of the toys I order has already shipped out. The email gives me a tracking link to click but all it does is redirect to my Amazon account to view it in my order history which currently shows nothing so I have no way to track it. I chatted with a support agent earlier and he didn't give much information other than he said the suspicious activity email was "a glitch" and he did in fact see my orders in their system and they're supposed to be deliver in the upcoming days. I guess I'll wait and see. It's frustrating not being able to see what I ordered or be able to track anything, all while my credit card is being charged. UPDATE: Well, after 15 days, I finally have an update. It seems my Amazon account was suspended or something due to the alleged "fraudulent" activity despite there being no actual fraud taking place but it really wasn't a suspension as I could still do most normal things on my account. I received an email from Amazon saying my account had been reinstated and to "thank me for letting them know about my cancelled items." I'm not sure what they're talking about as I haven't contacted anyone at Amazon about my account status. Upon logging in today (Dec 31, 2023), my orders page now appears correct with all my previously purchased Christmas items appearing in the list. While nice, it's a bit useless now as all my items did eventually deliver and my credit card was charged so in the end it all worked out but I was still in the dark throughout the whole ordeal. So I'm guessing Amazon "suspended" my account when it detected fraud but still let me log in, view previous orders, place new orders (I bought gift cards for family during this time), change account settings, and chat with Amazon reps about order status? Doesn't sound like a suspension to me, but whatever. FYI for anyone googling who ends up reading this.

r/amazonprime on Reddit: Tip To Download Amazon Order/Return Information, Chat History, etc.
January 16, 2024 -

Ever since Amazon got rid of order report functionality last year, I’ve been trying to find an easy way to export my order history. As it turns out, Amazon actually still offers a way to do this using their “Request My Data” tool, though it’s buried deep within their help pages.

Here’s the direct link to access: https://www.amazon.com/hz/privacy-central/data-requests/preview.html

There actually a number of different data sets you can download, most notably:

  • Your Orders

  • Search History

  • Advertising

  • Amazon Photos and Drive

  • Prime Video

  • Customer Support Communication

Unfortunately, the process to access the data requires a few steps – you submit a request, then have to confirm it by clicking a link sent to your email. You will then receive a link a few hours later to download the requested data.

I’ve only tried requesting order information thus far, but am pleasantly surprised with the robustness of the data. Here's a link to a high level summary I put together showing the full set of reports and fields Amazon provides when you request your order data

There are obviously a ton of things you can look at in this data, though wanted to highlight a few based on common questions I see on this subreddit

  • Returns Tracking – a lot of folks have reported issues with not knowing the tracking numbers for returns (e.g., if they are dropped off at UPS via QR code). The “Return Requests” file lists the tracking number for all returns you’ve requested

  • Return Reimbursement – the return reports also provide a comprehensive list of refunds from Amazon. You should be able to compare this information to your return requests to make sure that there aren’t any items that you sent back but haven’t been refunded for (I’ve already identified a few in my data!)

  • Prime Subscription Tracking – transactions related to your Prime subscription are in the “digital order” reports, which may be worth checking to ensure you aren’t being double charged for Prime, etc.

Hopefully others find this as helpful as I did (and apologies if this was common knowledge already!)

Amazon offers two report types: items and orders. Download and explore both of them to see which suits your interests; I used the items option, mainly because I it had more information about the specific things I purchased. It’s a relatively small file (mine was 128KB, or about as much as a Facebook photo), so it shouldn’t take long to download in most settings. Once you’ve requested the report, you’ll see it appear in a “Your Reports” box below the order request section.
