I tried a purple mattress in the store recently. The middle of the bed is great. The edges are squishy soft and I bet they’ll get worse over time. Answer from Puzzleheaded_Bag3145 on reddit.com

r/nectarsleep on Reddit: Classic or Premier?
May 11, 2025 -

I am debating getting a new Nectar mattress, as I have heard many good things about it. My current mattress is almost 30 years old…so I am LOOOONG overdue for an upgrade. I currently have a king size bed and plan to get the Nectar king size bed, in either Classic or Premier.

I wanted to get people’s opinions on what they like about the Classic or Premier version of the Nectar mattress? Why pick one over the other? I am planning to go to the nearest location with Nectar mattresses next week to test them out, but figured I’d ask on here first to get a head start on what I should be looking for.

I am a 6’ 4” male and about 215 lbs. I have no back problems / issues with pain at night sleeping; I am just looking for a new bed for me and my gf, as we are moving and are tossing the old mattress to upgrade to a new one.

Also on a side note, is the “cooling technology” option worth it? Is it noticeable if I decide to get one WITH the cooling technology? Thanks in advance!

r/Mattress on Reddit: Nectar Premier Copper OR Purple Restore Premier???
May 15, 2023 -

My husband and I have finally decided to upgrade ourselves to a king size bed. It’s been along time coming, but I’ve honestly never spent any time (until now) trying to decide on what mattress to get.

We went in store to try some out and landed on deciding between the Nectar Premier Copper or the Purple Restore Premier.

Both were comfortable for both of us with the Purple pulling slightly ahead in comfort level while laying on our backs. But the Nectar pulled ahead when it comes to price.

Very indecisive at this point, choosing between a higher price with a little more comfort or a much better price point for decent comfort. Also the price isn’t the end of the world, we can afford the Purple but we have a baby on the way so we are just trying to be smart about our spending.

Any personal reviews or input regarding these two mattresses? Would love to hear some outside opinions.

Thanks!

I really wish I knew about this sub a month ago. A simple "Nectar" search in this sub would have been enough for me to steer clear and saved me a lot of headaches.

My mattress needs to be replaced and a co-worker recommended Nectar to me. I checked it out and liked the price, but most importantly: the shipping time. They say 2-5 business days (LOL!).

I bought my mattress last month expecting to get it the following week. It never came. I checked the order status and noticed the date got pushed out. I chatted with a rep and they told me I will have my mattress on July 5th. I thought that was kind of odd since this conversation happened on the 2nd and I never got a shipping confirmation.

My mattress did not come on the 5th. I contacted them the following day. They told me that there was an inventory issue with the mattress I purchased. I got pretty pissed with the rep because it didn't say sold out or place backorder when I bought it. They ensured me that my mattress would be shipping either the next day or the day after. He refunded me a whopping $50 for my troubles.

Today is the day after, and I never got a shipping confirmation. I chatted with another useless rep that told me my shipping label is printed and it's awaiting pickup. I told him if it's not shipped by the time I get off work I will be canceling. It didn't ship of course. Clearly these people are given a script and told to tell pissed off customers "it's shipping tomorrow" to string them along.

I called after I got off work to cancel. The lady told me that my mattress was shipping today. I told her "That's hard for me to believe when you are the fourth person to tell me that. Cancel my order." She canceled it no problem, though.

Just posting this to add to the Nectar hate so no poor saps like me waste their time with this garbage company. You'd have better luck buying a mattress in Sri Lanka as an American tourist. Stay away from these swindlers.

r/nectarsleep on Reddit: Nectar Premier vs Nectar Hybrid Standard
June 4, 2025 -

So as the title says I'm conflicted between these two options, I'm a side sleeper that fluctuates between 180 and 190 lbs (83-88KG), as such tend to prefer a softer bed, has a very active job, and needs as much support as possible. As the sale ends in a day time any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I was initially dead set on the nectar Memory memory foam premier until I saw it was ideal for those with uuuuh...other needs in the bedroom. So the natural option was to go for the hybrid. And upon doing some research I found the common opinion is that the standard hybrid is actually softer than its premier version.

Does the standard nectar hybrid really come as close to feeling as memory foam like as its full foam counterparts as some reviews will have you believe? Or is there any alternatives around the same price point (UK) that suit my needs better.

Thanks for your help everyone :D

r/Mattress on Reddit: I bought the Nectar Hybrid Premier Copper. Should I have gone with something else?
July 28, 2023 -

Long story short - my 10-year-old Paramount memory foam mattress is sagging in the middle and is likely causing a pinched nerve in my right leg. Not fun. I need to replace it ASAP.

After doing some reading and watching some videos showcasing and critiquing the mattress, I decided that this one was my best option. I visited a local home appliance store so I could get a feel for it first. It was super comfortable compared to what I'm sleeping on now. The firmness felt perfect for what I need. That sold me.

After paying for the mattress and scheduling the delivery for this weekend, I came to Reddit. Everybody here hates Nectar.

Of course, one of the primary complaints is dealing with their customer service, which is a bullet I will be dodging having bought through a retailer. The main concern is the use of fiberglass inside the mattress. I've read some conflicting information, as there is some belief that Nectar may no longer be using fiberglass. If that is the case, then I think I'll be fine with the mattress.

If not... I don't know what to do. I do have the option to cancel before delivery this weekend. I'm a super cautious person by nature and don't want to deal with any fiberglass leaks. I would also prefer to not have another mattress that starts sagging on me after a few years, which is another complaint I have read about Nectar.

It's a little sketchy that they lied about their products being made in the USA, but that won't necessarily affect my experience so I'm not too concerned.

Any input for me, specifically about the newer line of Nectar hybrids?

Quick review for my Nectar Premier queen size memory foam mattress!

Upgraded from a very old box-spring twin size mattress to this. Original price was $2,000 but got on sale for $650 in the middle of last May (have had for 1 year now)!

After spending hours reading reviews and going to a bunch of furniture and mattress stores, no store could beat a bed-in-a box price or (alleged) comfort. Nectar gave me the best bang for my buck. I ordered the original memory foam at first (worth $1,500+), but then customer service called me and said that since my original order wouldn't come on time, they would upgrade me for free to the Premier (worth $2,000+). After telling me this, they then tried to send me the original memory foam, but I then had to haggle with customer service again on the phone to go back and get the Premier I was promised. Customer service people everywhere-- don't offer someone a free upgrade and then attempt to take it back! I will also say that the box was pretty beat up when it got to me, but the mattress inside was luckily fine.

I put it on a $215 lift-up storage bed frame, which is essentially putting it on a platform. As an aside, I love that bed frame, but I bought it on Amazon and it's not affiliated with Nectar sleep in any way.

I generally really like this mattress. It's nice to have the memory foam as it's soft to lay on and reduces my movement affecting my partner. I noticed that once my back got used to the different feeling (probably took 2-3 weeks for this, as I had never had a memory foam mattress before), I feel better in the morning and get deeper sleep. That being said, the edges are pretty soft, so it can be difficult to do things such as putting on socks while sitting on the edge of the bed. There is also something to be desired with the "cooling features" that this mattress promises, but I do have a partner that is a human heater/put cheaper sheets and mattress pad on this mattress, so I think maybe those are the bigger culprits with the bed retaining heat while sleeping in it. I will also mention that *so far* I have not experienced any sinking in of the mattress, but I am also religious about rotating it 180 degrees every 3 months to help avoid this. One con, I suppose, is that it can't be flipped upside-down due to its construction.

Overall, I like this mattress. The pros are that the memory foam is comfortable to sleep on, it's a big upgrade in size and quality from my old mattress (lol), and it was relatively easy to get into my new apartment. The cons are that the edges are a bit soft for my liking, and the customer service/shipping snafus were a hassle. The heat of sleeping on this mattress could be a con, but there are too many confounding variables to attribute that to the mattress itself IMO. I do think it's worth the $650 I got it for, but I wouldn't pay the full $2,000+ for it.

My fiancé and I are planning on getting a Nectar Hybrid but are undecided about which model to choose.

We tried both the Premier Hybrid & Luxe Hybrid out in-store and liked both, but we’re curious to know if you own them, how they have held up. Have you had any experience with either of these models? Did you wish you had gotten a different one? Do you have any other recommendations?

For reference, I’m 5’7” and weigh 115 pounds, while he’s 5’9” and weighs 165 pounds. I’m a back and side sleeper, and he’s a side sleeper.

Thanks in advance!

r/nectarsleep on Reddit: Nectar Premier Mattress Review: My honest take
November 1, 2024 -

Hey everyone! I’ve been sleeping on the Nectar Premier mattress for about a month now, and I thought I’d share my experience for anyone considering it.

Comfort & Feel Right off the bat, the Premier is plush but supportive. The gel memory foam layer really does keep things cool, which is awesome since I tend to overheat at night. I was skeptical at first, but it actually adapts to your body without that “stuck” feeling some memory foam mattresses have. It’s a medium-firm feel—supportive for my back but also soft enough for side sleeping.

Motion Isolation If you have a partner who moves a lot, the Premier does a great job at keeping motion isolated. My partner can get up without me feeling a thing (seriously, I’ve slept through a lot more movement than usual).

Edge Support One thing I didn’t expect was how well this mattress holds up on the edges. I like to sit on the side of the bed when I put on shoes or work on my laptop, and it feels stable, not like I’m going to slide off. I know older Nectar models struggled with this but the latest models are much better.

Delivery This is my only real negative thing is that the mattress is pretty heavy and a bit tough to move on your own (good luck). It also arrived with a broken box, but thankfully, the mattress was well-wrapped and perfectly protected inside. Just something to keep in mind if you’re handling it alone.

Value & Warranty Price-wise, it’s definitely on the premium side compared to some stuff on Amazon, but with the forever warranty and 365-night trial, it felt like a safe investment. If you’re thinking long-term, I think it’s worth the cost, especially with Nectar’s offers.

Final Thoughts Overall, I’m loving my sleep on the Nectar Premier so far. It’s been a solid upgrade in terms of comfort, and my mornings are noticeably less stiff. If you’re looking for a mattress that’s supportive yet comfy and stays cool, this one’s worth a look.

Feel free to ask me any questions—I know it’s a big decision and hard to do real research with all the crap you see on Reddit and other place - so I’m happy to help!

Updating this post: We ended up with a king sleep number i8 (?) without the adjustability. Decided we don’t need the up/down feature. Thanks for everyone’s input.

We’ve had a king sleep number for years and are researching our next purchase. We’ve been talking about the adjustable sleep number, king and I’m now reading great reviews for the nectar king adjustable. We’re also not sure if adjustable is the way to go. Any thoughts?

Both accuse the other of snoring. Approaching 60 yo too quickly.

April 23, 2025 -

We have had our Nectar Premier for about a year and two weeks. Contacted customer service and unfortunately missed the guarantee period by two weeks! So now we have an almost new mattress that we want to toss (responsibility, of course).
Specific complaints:

  1. Sleeps very hot.

  2. Because you're very hot while you sleep on this mattress, you feel compelled to move around a lot throughout the night.

  3. Moving around on this mattress is very difficult, you just don't have the resilience. It's more like lifting dead weight just to turn over.

  4. Difficult to get comfortable as a side sleeper lower back really starts to hurt.

  5. Disappointed that after buying three mattresses from this company, they wouldn't honor the one year guarantee but I guess the guarantee is a guarantee and missing it by two weeks was our bad.

September 26, 2021 -

So, my partner and I are moving in together next week and are looking to upgrade our bed situation full -> queen and have started the shopping process. While out trying mattresses out the best ones we found were the purple 3 and the nectar premier. The nectar premier was more within the budget we had in mind but after checking on here I've seen nothing but bad reviews and complaints. Now most seems to be about the company itself and the lack of customer service..so I'm moreso wondering about the quality and longevity of the mattress. It seems to be fine to me and we have a local store we can buy through and deal with for warranty and refunds instead of just doing it online. Is this a completely bad idea and should we keep looking or would dealing with a local store alleviate most issues people are complaining about. Thanks in advance

Purchased a Nectar Premier Hybrid March 2024. Loved it at first but within a couple of months it started to sag. Wife got super sick over the holidays and was kind enough to sleep in the guest room so I was solo in bed for the first time. When I shifted from my typical spot to the middle it I was apparent how bad the indentations were (it took effort to roll uphill). We're not large people - she's 5'4, 130lbs & I'm 6'1, 190lbs. She has had 2 back surgeries so a supportive mattress is critical. We're looking for suggestions for a queen size, firm mattress that sleeps on the cool side. Price is not part of the equation. Would like to avoid memory foam if possible. TIA

We just got a Nectar Premier Hybrid and have slept in it for two nights now, but for some reason I feel it may be too soft as it feels like I am sinking down when I move on it or even get in and out of bed and I am a rather small person 5’1” 120lbs. I don’t know if this is normal, something I am not used to and just takes a break in period with my body getting used to it or if it super soft? I have also felt stiff and sore getting up but also don’t know if that is adjusting as my previous sleeping arrangements were a sinking in couch! Has anyone experienced this bed or maybe similar changes?? Not sure what I should do going forward.

Thanks in advance for any help!

We recently made a huge mistake and bought a sealy tighttop 1000 coil mattress and it stiff as board. Awful. The worst part is going to return it we nicked the bottom and ripped it 😭.

Anyway enough of that, now i cant sleep on it for much longer so i need a mattress topper or a new bed . Im pregnant and my back is dying already from the plywood bed lol.

Is nector good? Are u a real person or a nectar employee 🤣🤣🤣 the reviews almost seem too good to be true whilst so much hate is out there?

ALSO, how long have u had your bed? Anyone here have it for 8+ years?

AALSOOOOO, does it have fiberglass? It seems like there is misleading info out there

Thank u

Hi, real person here (who is also a nectar mod but not an official nectar employee). I can't say anything about nectar mattresses specifically, but I DO have a dreamcloud mattress and have had it for just shy of 3 years. Dreamcloud and Nectar are owned by the same company/are pretty much the same thing. Zero complaints about quality - there is no sagging so far. My husband and I use our adjustable base a lot and haven't noticed any permanent bends or folds either. Big fan of customer service - I had a question about the firmness of the mattress and they sent me a topper. I have the premier which is pretty firm but has a top layer of foam for more comfort. I've heard the luxe is softer. No fiberglass in dreamcloud or nectar. Google says their older mattresses did, but new models do not. As for reviews.... yeah, dreamcloud and Nectar both have mixed reviews, but mattresses are such a tricky thing to shop for. One group of people will think a mattress is the perfect firmness while another yells about it feeling like sleeping on concrete or something. I personally have had a fantastic experience across the board.

I’m not a Nectar employee. I’ll go ahead and get that out of the way- though I wish they’d shoot me some kind of kick back for how loud I am about how much I love my mattress. I’ve had it right at a month, so I’m still new, but it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I have the premiere hybrid. Back story info and relevant info: We had an old TempurPedic and now we have a luxe breeze in another bedroom. I prefer my Nectar all day all week all the time. I am 5’3/120 lbs side sleeper and almost all beds feel too firm. For me and my needs this bed is perfection. I know that lots of things factor in, but for me- I am sleeping better than I ever have. Customer service: I originally got the luxe hybrid and it arrived in a beaten up box and the coils were damaged and it just wasn’t great- it was also really tall. I called Nectar, they asked for pics, approved the return, came to pick it up- had my refund and then got this bed all within a week. They were fantastic to me. So, I recommend, but personal preference is just such a huge thing with mattresses. I hope you find a great one soon :)
