Is Netflix different in Canada?
What are some good movies on Netflix Canada?
How to watch Canadian Netflix in the US?

Hey, so a couple of weeks ago, the new password sharing policy prevented us from sharing our account with my daughter at her university apartment, and in our cottage. Was so pissed that I downgraded my account from 4 streams to one, and started looking for other streaming services.
Since two days ago, looks like it works again. From all three locations. Any other sharing the same experience?
Netflix changing their minds?
I have a Canadian Netflix account, and I came to Mexico to visit family for a month. When I tried to watch something on Netflix, it told me that I cannot use it in this location. I contacted Customer Support, and they told me you can no longer watch Netflix outside the country from which you made an account. I gave them the link where it says that I can access Netflix from any country:
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24853
And they told me that they recently changed that policy for "safety, security and privacy". Just to be clear, I am physically present in Mexico, I am not sharing my account and I am not trying to use a VPN to get access to another country's library. To their credit, I demanded to be refunded for the month of July and they did. But is no wonder that this business is going to the ground.
Also, considering I have not seen many posts on this topic, I suspect that other users can still access Netflix from abroad, but I do think that region locking is the direction where Netflix is going.
I have been periodically getting emails from Netflix (see below; presumably from netflix, the email address is mailer.netflix.com), but all it would tell me is the country the request is coming from which isn't helpful. I have a family account with netflix and each of us know the login information. So why would I be getting these emails? Is it likely from some troll trying to get into my account?
Sign-in Request
Dear ***,
We've received a sign-in request from a computer. Please let us know if you recognize this request and would like to allow access to your Netflix account.
That looks different than the normal message you get when accessing your account from a different location. I know just recently they started letting you confirm logins using e-mail instead of making you type in the password by hand. Which is handy on devices without keyboards but also means anybody with your e-mail could try to log in hoping you just approve the request without looking into it.
If that's what's happening and your e-mail provider supports it I'd suggest changing the e-mail on your Netflix account to something like [email protected]. It'll still go to your regular e-mail but then people wouldn't be able to send you login requests just by knowing your e-mail.
