Does Netflix · ON US · mean Netflix is free at · T-Mobile · ?
What is Netflix · ON US · ?
What Netflix subscription do I get?
It seems I'm not alone on this so I'll share what I know. (For numbers I'll be using pricing for premium and US currency as of September 2025. I'll also be rounding up the .99c to the nearest dollar for simplicity)
Netflix offers a premium account ($25) with an "extra member" ($9). The extra member basically allows you to account share at a discounted price but is billed through one account. ($34)
T-Mobile has a promo for "Netflix on Us" ($7) which is Netflix with ads. You can then pay the difference for Netflix's different plan tiers. So for myself on the premium plan I am charged $18 more. However T-Mobile offers in your "add ons" through T-life on your account "Netflix Premium Additional Netflix Account" at a $25 amount. One would think these 2 services are the same.. they are not. In short what T-Mobile is offering is to pay for another account with no discount separately but attached to your T-Mobile account.
It's really bad phrasing if you ask me because the additional account SHOULD be what Netflix's extra member is. It is just offering to put your bills together with 2 accounts where only one gets the discount.
So in short you can get the $7 from T-Mobile and pay $18 for premium and add a whole other account at $24 and bill it through TMobile for a total of $42. Or you can pay $25 through Netflix plus the $9 for an additional account for a total of $34 which would save you $8. So do you want $7 through your phone carrier or $8 through Netflix's extra member deal.
You can even add a 3rd account for another $9 as Netflix allows 2 extra members. ($43)
Hope this helps as I've called both Netflix and T-Mobile on this matter. If you find out something different by all means please share.
I got a text from T-Mobile and they Netflix price increase will not affect me.
T-mobile took advantage of Netflix price/plan changes to change how Netflix is offered in T-Mobile plans. And nobody has seemed to notice.
T-Mobile used to offer middle tier plans a Netflix credit of $8.99 per month towards their bill if they had two voice lines or more. And T-Mobile used to offer upper to your plans a credit of $15.49 towards their bill (incentive to be on the upper tier plan, on a premium plan getting a better Netflix offer… Sounds great!)
But now T-Mobile only offers $6.99 credit towards your Netflix cost on whatever T-Mobile plan offers Netflix.
So now, you have to pay even more than you would have used to pay to get No ads.
Coming from a very frustrated, current, T-Mobile employee.
Hi! Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the Netflix on us. I contacted T-force to get the process started. They had me verify my account and then download the T-life app. I did. I signed in, made the selection for which plan I wanted and everything was good. The customer service representative said it was activated.
Unfortunately whenever I went to Netflix to start my plan, I was never offered a cheaper rate. Netflix wants me to pay full price, $17.99 for the standard plan.
Tforce and I troubleshooted this for several hours and I had to call it a night. So here I am, day #2, to try and activate this.
Why is Netflix on us so damn complicated? I can't believe I wasted somewhere like 3 hours trying to activate this, and here I am, day number 2.
So what gives? Is it always this fuckin complicated? I'm going to give it another shot today, but if I can't get it I'm just going to write it off as an impossibility on T-Mobiles end.
Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions or hints or tricks or whatever, please share.
Thank you in advance!
Edit/update: after getting in touch with the right tforce rep, he told me I had to "recover" my account via the T-life app. I followed the instructions and I got it! What a process! But thanks everyone, especially the redditor that suggested the very same steps the last tforce rep suggested I try.
Hello, I'm debating on going thru my phone service that offers netflix for either premium or standard plan and not sure what the quality difference would be like? I currently have premium through netflix. Right now it's just my boyfriend and I streaming on our phones, TV or computer.
Thank you in advance..
