Need help with neutral guest pallet
Hi all! Friends wedding upcoming in 3 weeks. My husband is a groomsman and will be wearing a black tux. I am newly postpartum and getting used to my new body. Our son is 3 months old and I’ve been able to get to a size medium which I am so proud of myself for. I had a dress in mind that I was going to wear but then I realized the bride is requesting that we all wear “ formal evening wear neutrals”. Everything I’m finding looks so bridal, or is tight fitting and just feels off in my new postpartum body. I need help finding a neutral dress with sleeves that is not too form fitting. For reference I’m 5’3 with blonde hair and blue eyes (hoping for something that doesn’t totally wash me out!) also do yall think it’s okay to wear black as a neutral in this case?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but these DCs seem like they’re getting out of hand. There are a lot of definitions for neutral. Cream? Beige? Tan? Blush? And yes, maybe black? I mean, maybe she would be OK with all these, but I don’t know how you can tell. Obviously, I guess ask for more information. Too bad they don’t just focus more on other things and less on the guests. But I’m old-fashioned lol

Hard pass on this. Do they think guys are all going to buy terracotta suits? No. No, they won’t. Women overwhelmingly bear the financial burden for shit like this and I’m over it. I went to 6 weddings one year. My partner wore the same suit to each one, just changed out accessories/shirt. I had to have several dresses, so I did my best to at least get things I could wear again. I bought a pale pink dress when I was in my sister’s wedding, but no, I’m not searching for a knee-length celery green dress so some dipshit’s bride-to-be has a color-coordinated shot for IG. Be serious. It’s common courtesy to mind the formality of the dress code and to avoid dresses that look bridal. Fine. But this shit ain’t it. More on reddit.com
