December 29, 2006 - In 1961, his business had grown so much that he opened up his first modern “supermarket” in Morgan Hill at the corner of Main and Hale streets. The new store looked up on a minor mountain locals called “Nob Hill,” so he decided to christen the store after it. Later, Mike’s son, Michael, joined him in the supermarket trade and the two men opened a large store in Gilroy.
