Has anyone tried this case? Thoughts? Has anyone used this case and had their phone damaged while using it? One of my phones had what I thought was a beefy protective case from Casetify on it and the entire back glass shattered after one of its falls. Now I am skeptical of cases. I don’t think just good edge protection is enough. Been looking at the Nomad Rugged case, but would love to hear if any of you incurred damage while using it.
I really like the look of this case but i keep reading that the lip around the screen is not tall enough and the fit tends to be loose. Is it really that bad? I don't want my screen protector touch the surface of the table when place the phone faced down.
The leather feels nice not as soft as Ryan Leather’s iPhone 15 PM case I have but I guess Nomads will take some time to kinda change its appearance over time, overall the case is nice buttons are perfect no hard clicky sounds the fact that I got it for £51 from Megamac as compared to £75 on Amazon no clue why but I am happy with this case so far!
Considering it for the 17PM.
I’ve preferred genuine leather cases for my phones. The last iPhone 11 PM had the Apple cases in more or less all colours (they were available at a deep discount not too long ago) which I rotated. So Apple stopping the leather cases had me look for options elsewhere for my 16 Pro.
Among the options available, Nomad suited my taste, were reasonably priced (for the quality of leather they use… they weather better than the Apple Original in my view) and ease of shipment to India.
It ended up being a good deal with a Nomad Screen protector thrown in free. I went for the Traditional leather variant as I don’t want to feel TPU on a leather case. I went for the Nomad leather as it builds the patina much more slowly than the higher priced Horween leather (which is also richer), and also because the Horween was in stock only in black and not my preferred English Tan colour.
So, here it arrived and adorns my phone now. I know the cutout will be what many would point out, but I prefer it over a notch that makes the camera control difficult to use. The exposed titanium edge I hope will be robust enough. And I like how it peeps out showing some of the original colour or the phone. The lips are minimal, just like the Apple leather cases had before. The case therefore doesn’t look thick like the Modern variant which has TPU. I like that the profile of the phone stays intact with this case. The bottom cut outs are large enough.
One hidden benefit of a genuine leather case is how the sound from the iPhone’s speaker improves. No surprise here as natural materials like wood and leather are known to dampen the resonances of the metal frame making the music sound more fullish and focused.
Overall, I am glad that companies like Nomad are still making such cases in leather for those of us who like the looks of the iPhone to not degrade, but get enhanced in terms of aesthetics on putting a case on them.
