Nuna Pipa Lite RX Car Seat Review - Consumer Reports
October 22, 2025 - Recline adjustments are based on the child's weight rather than following a recline indicator which may be more intuitive for parents but lacks the ‘check’ of a recline indicator to show if the recline position is appropriate. The Pipa Lite RX’s price may be a deterrent for some, but at least it has performance that may warrant the price.

NUNA PIPA lite rx + PIPA RELX Base Rear Facing Only Car Seat Review - Car Seats For The Littles

Nuna Pipa Lite Rx Review - joannaorganize.com
January 11, 2024 - Ultimately, the Pipa Lite Rx is what we landed on. I wanted a lightweight carseat that was compatible with our strollers and could be strapped into a car without a base (think Lyft rides, car rentals, etc.). A few other features that I thought were cool but didn’t really know the importance of but love now: ... 10/10 recommend this carseat! And if you’re looking for strollers, check out my post about the TWO (yes, two) we purchased. ... In reviewing the Nuna Pipa Lite Rx car seat, it’s underscored how critical features such as lightness and compatibility are for parental convenience and baby’s safety.

Nuna Pipa Lite Rx Review | Replacing OG Nuna Pipa [discontinued]
The discontinued models use the original base, and while it’s been a trusty companion, it’s time to make way for the much-preferred and highly versatile RELX base, which will be the new standard base. If you’ve had your eye on the Nuna PIPA Lite or PIPA Lite LX, my advice is to act fast and snatch one up while you still can. But don’t fret too much because the Nuna PIPA Lite RX with the RELX base is the jam.

r/BabyBumps on Reddit: Nuna Pipa RX vs Pipa Lite RX
August 20, 2023 -

Hello! I am a soon to be FTM. I am overwhelmed with the amount of choices for everything, but especially the nuance s between strollers and car seats so any help is appreciated!!

I will be purchasing a car seat and stroller from Nuna. I’m heavily leaning towards the Mixx Next stroller. For car seats, it is only sold as a system with the Pipa Rx or the Pipa Urbn. The urbn is a baseless infant car seat, which frankly scares the crap out of me, so I don’t think I’ll be going with that system.(unless someone on here sells it hard🤣)

I could also purchase the stroller and the car seat separately. Is the Pipa Lite RX worth the extra $150? From my research, it’s (barely) lighter and you don’t need to rethread the harness as the baby grows. Convenient, but not necessary and they’re both equally safe!

I’m also intrigued by the Demi grow stroller since I’m planning on (hopefully) having more than one child. Would y’all suggest skipping the single stroller and getting a stroller that can eventually accommodate more than one child?

Thanks so much!!

I looked at all sorts of Nuna stuff for like HOURS last weekend haha so here’s what I can remember from that deep dive… The woman working at the store immediately steered me away from the urbn. She said it was designed for travel (which is why it’s only available as a travel system option). It has the latch connectors built right into the seat, but you have to screw around with trying to fit it in properly every time. I told her I travel a ton and thought it would be compatible with that lifestyle, but she said that seatbelting one of the other pipas is the better option when traveling. The base seems really easy to use for regular use in my car- you can also get multiple bases if you have multiple cars so it’s a simple click-in vs having to reconfigure it regularly. The lite vs regular decision is mostly finishes. The lite obviously weight less, but I feel like in the grand scheme of things, what’s like 1 more lb to carry short distances? The lite has a no-rethread harness (had NO clue what that meant before that day, but the lite has a locking lever system to move the harness up/down, but the other one, you have to remove/reinsert the belts to get it where you want it. The finished feel a little nicer/comfortable on the lite too. The Demi grow was just weird to me- as a single, it’s GIANT, and as a double, the second kid’s seat takes away the basket space (they’re basically on the ground)

Just an FYI.... I really wanted the Pipa lite rx as well but when I asked customer support about colors they told me that they are simplifying the Pipa series and are discontinuing the Pipa lite rx car seats. Doesnt mean you cant still get it in the colors they have left but that made me do a 180 and I went with the Pipa rx instead.

Nuna Pipa Lite RX Infant Car Seat - Full Review! | Pish Posh Baby
January 13, 2024 - If you’re looking for a lightweight baby car seat, this one weighs just 6.9 pounds! That means it's lighter than both the Nuna Pipa, and the Pipa RX! It’s not as light as the other Pipa Lite car seats, but it has a huge advantage over them - it's possible to use it without the base!

September 17, 2023 -

I've been deep in researching car seats and am between the Nuna PIPA and the Chicco keyfit 35. Im leaning towards the Nuna PIPA but saw that it will be discontinued over the few couple of months. Should I avoid purchasing this car seat just because it's being discontinued?

I'm a bit worried this could make it harder to buy extra bases or be compatible with strollers over the next year. I welcome any opinions on these car seat choices too!

September 21, 2022 - The Pipa Lite RX is the lightest at only 6.9 lbs., and sports a premium RELX base with a one-handed locking load leg installation. It’s also the only one with magnetic buckle holders and a no-rethread harness. If you plan to carry your car seat, regularly remove it to attach to strollers, or put it into other vehicles often – This is certainly your best nuna car seat comparison choice.

October 22, 2025 - The Nuna Pipa Lite is a good choice if you plan to install the seat using the LATCH system. While it may prove a little difficult to attach the rigid LATCH anchors in some vehicles with hidden anchors, there is no effort required to secure the seat.

Nuna Pipa Lite vs Pipa Lite LX: a Little Canadian Comparison
June 11, 2025 - Well, because of it’s lightweight materials, the maximum weight the Lite and Lite LX can hold is 22lbs. Meaning you aren’t getting as much use out of this seat as you would another car seat (most car seat weight capacities are around 35lbs). Additionally, the seat belt installation option was removed for these seats. You cannot install the Nuna Pipa Lite or Lite LX without the car seat base, meaning if you like to travel or frequently use taxis or Uber, this might make life a little more difficult.

r/Buyingforbaby on Reddit: Nuna Pipa Aire - thoughts?
February 1, 2024 -

Today, Nuna announced the successor to the Pipa Lite: https://nunababy.com/usa/pipa-aire-rx?color_ref=16366

I had been waiting for this, since it became clear at the end of 2023 that the Pipa Lite was no longer being sold by retailers. Thanks to this subreddit for letting me know a new Pipa was coming!

Among the Instagram comments I saw this morning:

-With inserts, it's barely (.2 lbs) lighter than the regular Pipa

-They got rid of the no-rethread harness and replaced it with a rethread one

-The limit is 30 lbs rather than 32, and 30 inches rather than 32 inches compared to the previous Pipa Lite

I was looking forward to this one but now it seems I might have been better off purchasing the previous Pipa Lite.

Any thoughts? I'm a FTM due in about two months, so a lot of these features and products are still new to me but I've been following this product since I purchased a used Mixx stroller and was handed down a Mixx bassinet.
