I’m trying to figure out the current value of NVIDIA stock options that were granted 5 years ago.

Assuming someone joined NVIDIA and was given stock options worth $36,000 at that time (pretty standard of a sales person)..

And considering all the stock splits that have occurred since then, including the most recent 10-for-1 split in 2024..

How much would those options be worth at today’s stock price?

Simple calculation. If you were granted $100k in RSU 5 years ago, you would have got about 2700 stocks (or 27000 post split). 27000 * 130 (today's price) = 3.5m. So yes, everybody who joined 5 years ago and kept their stock is a multi-millionnaire. Also, let's not forget that you receive more RSUs every year.

Which means exactly nothing. Glassdoor and GPTW "certifications" are bullshit. I've worked at 2 places that had top employer (by GPTW). One was notoriously bad. Most of the workforce were contractors that did not qualify to answer the survey (cause well technically they don't work for the company but themselves - bullshit). Top management made sure that actual employees answered correctly. The other one my boss had been fired for harassment, but the owner liked her and put her back after 3 months. Not saying Nvidia can't be good (I hope they are! Customer here) but these certifications are completely disconnected from reality.
